Question about Samsung Digimax S730 Digital Camera

Pentax EI-100 not downloading pictures

My Pentax EI-100 will not connect with my computer successfully.  The steps to download photos are:  Open "My Computer," connect USB cable to computer, turn on camera and set to PC, and then connect the other end of the cable to the camera.  Within 90 seconds or so an icon labeled "removable disc" is supposed to appear.  I have followed the instruction exactly ... but the icon always fails to appear - even after several minutes.   I know the problem is not the camera because it works just fine on my husband's computer that is using a later edition of Windows.  What could the problem be?  The instructions say that the driver should be loaded on Windows XP already - though when looking through the device manager and pretending to install a camera - no pentax camera drivers are there.   I have been trying to get this camera to work on my computer for a couple of years now ... please help me. I appreciate any information you have. I can not install software.

Check the connecting usb cable that connects the camera with computer. Excessive usage causes cables breakages.

  1. Replace the usb cable with a new one available at a very low cost in market.
  2. Try other Usb ports on computer to plug in the camera
Hope it works. If not contact me again

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER VIDEOS AND PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your videos and photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer.
Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

My Pentax S40 will no longer download photos onto my computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Since you didn't say what program(s) you're using I can't tell you anything about where it/they may have downloaded your photos to.

there is two ways to load pictures from your cam to pc:

D. now you can choose a picture you like to be transfered or copy to your PC
E. save picture in a folder that you ca easily remember

step 2
need a usb wire to connect cam to usb port

Ahhh help!

You should use photo recovery software to rescue the lost pictures, here are some you may rely on. Both programs can also recover videos and music.

Photo Recovery Software (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
