Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My Hitachi TV (older model) TE 4210 seems to be dropping the stored channels. I program the channels from 14 to 60 in memory and later on I discover that I am back to only 13 channels. Anybody with experience with this fault?

One station only has lost sound but piture is great. All other channels work fine.

Have you tried retuning the TV? You may need to do a Full Factory Reset tuning rather than just a rescan.

Rescan simply looks at the place holders where the old channels were stored and refreshes them. A Factory Reset (A.K.A. Shipping Condition) wipes the channel memories and starts again fresh.

How do i program my channels

Hello
Your Toshiba tv can be automatically tuned to all stations. The procedure follows.

Programming channels automatically

Your TV can automatically detect all active channels and store them in

its memory. After the TV has stored the channels in its memory automatically,

you can add or erase channels manually.

To add channels automatically:

1. Press MENU, then press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to display the SETUP menu.

2. Press "Up arrow"or "down arrow" until the TV/CABLE

selection is highlighted.

3. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to highlight either

TV or CABLE, depending on which you use.

If you use an antenna, choose TV.

If you use cable, choose CABLE.

4. Press "down arrow" button until the CH PROGRAM selection is highlighted.

5. Press "left arrow" or "right arrow" button to start channel programming. The TV will automatically

cycle through all the TV or Cable channels (depending on which you

selected), and store all active channels in the channel memory.

While the TV is cycling through the channels, the message

"PROGRAMMING NOW-PLEASE WAIT" appears.

6. When channel programming is complete, the message "COMPLETED"

appears.
7. Press CH UP or DOWN button to view the programmed channels.
OK.

TV was hooked up to cable and it only gets 3 channels, how can I get the rest of the channels?

if your tv has the digital tuner and you want to use a antenna, select the customer menu either from the remote or from the front of the tv if available then select the channel scan or channel program settings, this will set the available channels into the tv memory, if you have an older tv(no digita tunning) you will need a digital converter box(avail thru most electronics stores or elect. dept. stores for about 40 dll) you will need to program the box but most of these boxes have a good on screen detailed description on the setting up procedure.
