Re: wireless connection failed?
Hi dhirca21, did you setup security? On the notebook if you do a search for your wireless it should find your linksys wireless. If you set up security the notebook wil need your password to gain access. To get to your wirelass router's settings, open internet explorer & in the address window type in 192.168.1.1 & press enter. In the popup window do not type anything in user ID & type in admin for password & press enter. Everything you need to configure this setup is listed here.

That's all you need to get your wireless internet up and running. However, in order to connect computers to the wireless network, they must be wireless capable, for example, most laptops have built in wifi, however desktops will need a wireless adapter to take advantage of your wireless router.
Have you already setup one of your computers to connect to the Internet using the wireless router?
If so you can setup the second computer the same way and it also will connect to the internet. There is no need to access the Internet through the other computer.
Make sure your desktop doesn't have static IP address. Go to Network Connections, Properties of Local Area Connection, Internet Protocol > Properties. Select Obtain IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Servers Automatically. Apply the changes and restart the computer.
Reset the router Use regular way to configure the Router. Please post here if you need further assistance
To setup your router first check.. Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider. If it can go online, to setup connection.. Step 1: Connect the Broadband modem to the router’s WAN or Internet port. Step 2: Connect the computer to any available numbered port (1, 2, 3 or 4). NOTE: In this example, we’ll connect the computer to port number 3. Step 3: Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet. Step 4: check if you are able to go online wired.. if not your router has to be configured first, config your router by running the setup cd and that would fix your problem..
let me no know in case if you have any problems ...
