Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Trying to run my rear channels in my theater with an elan z660. However having trouble getting the amp to put out any sound and i believe its because i dont fully understand the remote trigger. It is different from my other amps. How do i get a copy of an installation manual to help?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I'd suspect that one of the two output transistors on that channel has gone bad. If you are unsure how to test or troubleshoot this, then you might try replace both the NPN and PNP outputs and catch the bad one that way. If your amp uses an output module then you would of course have to replace the module which would replace all the output transistors on both channels. Good luck. Another thing to look out for, is the emitter bias resistors. They are the large white ceramic ones near the outputs. Sometimes one of those will open up too. They will be of a very small resistance value like .5 ohms (point five ohms) or something in that general ballpark, and have a wattage value of typicaly 5 watts. So they are pretty big resistors. Be sure to check them all even if you do find a bad output transistor. They will often go out with the transistor. Good luck.

First, try looking here: http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcenter/car/amplifiers_movie.html If that helps, be sure to leave feedback or I don't get paid. Look all over the cruchfield page and you can find guides for every type of installation.

SOURCE: GEM SOUND PA-750 POWER AMP
Locate a small slide switch at the back panel of your amp.
3 terminal and if you've snapped one of the wire, you'll see where the wire goes. But if it is 2 wire and using a ribbon type, follow the arrangement of the wire. No harm to the amp if you make a mistake. if bridge, all power will be shifted ti the left channel.

I'll try to help you step by step from your question. My answers will be in all caps. Here we go.
I really hope u can help me,i have 2 basic speakers with connections in the back for the amp leads to go into, but i am really struggling with what wires i put into the amp and in which connections and then really, really struggling with which connections i need to come out of the amp to go to my speakers.
I have a Carlsbro 150w power module
(THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PA AMP AND NOT A CONSUMER STYLE AMP, IS THAT TRUE?)
and it has an Output hole of which im guessing is where the speaker connection goes
(IF IT IS LABELED OUTPUT THEN IT IS INDEED A SPEAKER OUTPUT CONNECTION)
,but on the front of the amp i have 6 channels, each with a hole which is black that says HIGH Z,and also a red hole that says BALANCED LOW Z,
( THESES ARE MICROPHONE AND OR GUITAR INPUT JACKS AND MOST OFTEN YOU WOULD USE THE HIGH Z (meaning impedence) INPUT FOR A MICROPHONE
and next to it i have two buttons with REV and FX
THESE ARE FOR REVERB AND EFFECTS CONTROLS OR INPUTS. YOU DON'T NEED THESE FOR JUST A VERY BASIC SETUP.
.At the other end of the amp ,ive got another red hole that says REMOTE SWITCH
DISREGARD REMOTE CONTROL SWITCH JACK
and 2 black holes that say EFFECTS ,SEND and RETURN.Do i need these?
DISREGARD THESE TOO
I just dont know where to put my output line from my mixer to the amp.
IT WILL GO INTO THE BALANCED LOW Z INPUT, BUT IT MAY ACTUALLY BE TOO HOT A SIGNAL(signal strength too high), LOOK FOR SOMETHING LIKE A TAPE INPUT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON YOUR FRONT PANEL. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THAT THEN YOU MAY NEED TO USE AN ADAPTER DEVICE THAT WILL KNOCK DOWN YOUR SIGNAL STRENGTH TO THE RIGHT LEVEL FOR A MICROPHONE INPUT AND THEN PLUG IT INTO THE BALANCED LOW Z INPUT.
PLLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEE HELP.Im tearing my hair out.
HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK

Remote wire from Jensen is blue or blue/white. Use Blu/white if there is one. . RCA's, for subs, use the rear if no subwoofer pre-outs are available. If unit has sub pre-uts, use them as the head ubit (stereo) would have a level that can be raised or lowered thus giving you more control over the input to the sub amp.
