Question about Panasonic CQ-C1101U CD Player

Fuse blows when I connect to original power source

Turned on my ac (89 Jetta) Deck (CQ-C1101U) went dead (blown fuse). Each time I replace the fuse and hook it up to power the fuse blows immediately. Nothing else in the car is fried and all car fuses are good.

Blown main ac fuse

a FEW ways this happens.

If fuse blows instantly when set plugged into power either a generic fuse (lots of these fuses are special and a generic will pop for no reason) or a dead short on the primary side of the power supply.

If fuse blows instantly when turned on a short either in secondary side of power supply or something it feeds.

First to try is get the exact fuse used (buy a pair) and see what happens.

beyond that if secondary side (when set is turned on) have an expert look at the set.

Black screen no video no audio suddenly now

This set is a 50" plasma. first check the AC power fuse on the filter board then: if it is bad: check the power supply by marking and, removing all the cables; (so you can put them back in the correct spot) except the filter board to power supply cable; that connects to the Power supply board. Then: replace the blown AC fuse and, re-power: If the power supply blows the fuse: again, the power supply is bad and, must be replaced or, repaired. If the fuse does not blow: turn off the set then: on again, reconnecting and, disconnecting each board cable in turn, untill the fuse blows again this cable leads to the bad board; replace or, repair the board that blows the AC fuse every time the bad board is connected, irregardless of which other cable to the power supply may be connected also; or, not.

No power to tv when i plug it in. don't know if all the way dead way to check it?

I really need the make and model number to help you.

My understanding of what you have said is that there is no standby light and no clicking sounds when you power on your unit. If this is true regardless of what type of tv it is there is a fair chance that the main ac line fuse is blown.

To determine if the line fuse is blown, remove the rear cover panel and follow the ac power cord to where it connects to the circuit board. The ac fuse is a small glass cylinder, about a half inch long. Replace the fuse with the same amperage and ignore the voltage rating. If the new fuse blows as well, your looking at involved circuit work which should be referred to an experienced repair technician.

No power

1. Check that the AC outlet is working.
2. Check that the AC power cord is ok with no damage.
3. Unplug the unit, remove the cover and check for a blown fuse.
If blown, replace with a value that is the EXACT value as the original.
4. If the fuse blows again or the unit is still dead, you most likely have a problem in the power supply section.

In that case, you'll need to take it to be serviced.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good Luck!
