How to secure my home network wifi how to put a password?! it appears that it's Unlocked..

Wireless network passwording is done at the router, in the wireless setup area. Log into your router using the admin userid and password. Go to wireless settings and there you will see the option to set a password for the wireless network. One you set the password and save it, all devices that connect to your network wirelessly will need to be reconnected to the network, using the password you selected to gain access to the network.

Hi, you are probably putting wrong password. You can try to connect your computer to the router by ethernet cable, then using web browser log in to router administration panel and check the password to your WiFi network.

How to reset your password on wii for yhe wireless

Go into your Wii wireless settings and choose wireless network connection, then choose the type of network security and then put in the password for the network. You may need to delete the profile of that network on the wii and start over for it to allow you to input your password for the wireless network again if it was typed incorrectly. If it still doesn't work you may need to reset the password of your wireless router.

WILL NOT CONNECT TO LINSYS HOME ROUTER BUT WILL CONNECT TO WORK NETWORK

What do you mean it won't allow you to put in the home network passcode? When you click connect to your home network, does the password request come up for you to put it in? If not, you've got your settings wrong on the laptop

There are some configurations that allow you to put in the password and then are are some that allow you to use a pin. I bet you've got your connection in the laptop configured wrong.

My Kindle will reconize the network but says the password is invalid but if it was then my laptop would not be able to connect to the Internet. ? Can you solve this mystery for me? This is the first...

I am not familiar with the kindle, however your premis, " but if it was then my laptop would not be able to connect to the Internet. ?" is not exactly correct. When your network was set up someone put a password in to protect your network from having unauthorized connections to it. That password is needed by every computer that has a network card. Someone added that password to your laptop, but if I were to come into your house (invited of course) my computer would see your network name, but I would not be able to access it untill you told me your password and I entered it into my network access. What your kindle is telling you is that you must put that password into its network card, and after that it will remember it just like your laptop. Now if you were to take your kindle to McDonalds, it would not need a password and would connect up. This is because McDonalds operates an "OPEN" network that does not have a password and welcomes everybody to connect up. Remember when you use the McDonalds "OPEN" network, your session would be available to any one that wanted to snoop, and could capture what you wrote including paswords to banks, other networks etc.

How to put password?

Hi Friend,

Please follow the steps in order to secure your network

1.Open router page (192.168.1.1)
2.Enter the username and password (default password is admin and leave the username blank)
3.On the router page click Wireless and fill the sections as mentioned
Wireless Network Mode-Mixed
Wireless Network Name-As per your choice
Wireless channel-6-2.437Ghz
Wireless SSID broadcast-Enable and click save settings

4.Click Wireles Settings and select the Security Mode as WEP
WEP encryption-64 bits 10hex digits
Key1-Enter 10 digit or 10 letter password(like your telephone number) and click save settings.

Turn off the router for 30 seconds and turn it on after that. Your network is now password protected.

I hope this will resolve the issue.

Regards
Chiranjeet
