Question about AT&T 8925 Tilt Smartphone
I purchased an AT&T tilt but now am using it in India; My network provider supports GPRS and edge but im not able to connect ; The weather update on the HTC home i downloaded works fine and also the Mundu internet messenger that I installed ; but IE and no other program Including google maps work ...
The funny part is when i connect it to my laptop ; all these things work ; I tried the proxy turn off and on thing suggested on most sites but that didnt work .. I then tried the hard reset followed by soft reset this to remove all the bloatware but still no use .. im so stuck kindly help
Here is the solution. Do it precisely as i have listed below and you won't have any issue.
HTC Tilt 8900/8925 Windows Mobile - Airtel Live GPRS Setting Instructions:-
start->settings->connections->connections->add a new connection
name of connection: AIRTELLIVE
Select a Modem: Cellular Line(GPRS,3G)
Acess point name: airtelfun.com
proxy settings tab
checked - This network connects to the network
checked - This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet

Disable the proxy in the tools, it works perfectly.

You should ask the settings from your provider, b.coz in INDIA they have different settings for mobile GPRS and GPRS to use with computers. I think your GPRS setting is for DATA which works with your lap, you should set the setting for GPRS.
Hutch has Access Point Name: portalnmms for GPRS on mobile where as www for DATA access from computer.

u have activeted gprs connaction in ur moble
if ur not connect then contact ur service provider compny or a costomer care he will gudie u how to activate ur gprs connaction in ur moblie i have same problem 2 month age i have call in costomer care i do what they say & my problem will sovle
its may help u

First go to Settings -> Connections -> Hutch WAP (GPRS) (or create if you dont have this already)
Connects to: Work
Access point: portalnmms
User name: (empty)
Authentication type: Select the option ‘None’
Primary DNS: (empty)
2nd DNS: (empty)
IP Address: 10.10.1.100
Then go to Settings ->Proxy -> Hutch WAP Proxy (Again, create if you don’t have it already)
Connects from: Work
Connects to: WAP Network
Type: Select ‘HTTP’
User Name: (empty)
Open Internet Explorer -> Tool -> Options -> Connections
Un-check the Automatically Detect Settings option
Select Network: WAP Network
After this, be sure to reboot your phone and thats it!
