Possibly, but you can remove handle and it has a dial that will let you adjust hot and cold ratio. Do to antiscald this is a safety feature.

If if has a dial to adjust you can remove it and just move it an 1/8 to 1/4 turn and put back in and check water. just remember where it was before you move it.

Getting hot water when shower valve is first opened.

If I understand correctly, you have single handled shower faucet.
Normally there is a wait for hot water to arrive at faucet.
But now hot water is already at shower faucet.

Single handled faucets have a mixing area inside valve where hot and cold come together before going into sink.
This mixing valve can have crossover where the hot and cold can pass through to each other even when faucet handle is off. When single handle faucets get old, this can happen.
How it happens:
For example another faucet is turned on inside house, and pressure differential between hot and cold causes hot water at shower handle to pass through mixing area and into cold water line.
So if another faucet has been run, then that lets hot flow to faulty single handled shower faucet.
To confirm this is the problem: turn on other faucet and put ear against shower faucet to listen for moving water.
This condition may also signal there is a water leak.
The problem is not harmful, but will draw cold water into water heater each time, and is energy wasteful.
Replace faucet or have plumber repair problem.

Rinnai Infinity 26 hot water system set to 55 degrees with remote temp adjuster. Water only luke warm for showers. Burnner working, water & gas pressure ok. Any thoughts ... Stephen

If you aren't getting any error codes, then the heater is probably doing its job. Your problem is probably somewhere in your plumbing system. The most common reason you get this sort of problem is due to cold water mixing in the hot water system. There are a number of causes for a "cross connection" :

-Faulty check valve
-Missing check valve on reciculation return line
-Faulty shower cartridge
-Thermostatic mixing valve set too low
-Faulty thermostatic mixing valve
-Faulty anti-scald valve

The easiest way to confirm a cross connection is to: 1) shutoff the cold water entering the tankless heater 2) open hot water valves around the house. If you still have water flowing at your hot water fixtures, then you have a cross connection.

If it is a single valve it sounds like the pressure balancer has either failed or is corroded, you might be able to take it out and soak it in CLR for a little while to clean out the hard water so it it will work again. If not you'll have to buy a new cartridge. Best to take the old one with you to Homedepot or Lowe's if you have to replace it.

When i turn the shower on to Hot the power of the water drops right down and when i turn it to cold it seems fine, do you know what the problem is.

Has this problem the same for the sink, is this problem the same in other faucets. If not then the problem is in the mixing valve(shower handle guts) Some mixing valves have an adjustment under the handle to let more hot water to mix with the cold. If this is not the case then it is the mixing valve.

Delta single handle faucet. Hot or cold no in between.

well they should be same size but unless you getting more of one then other then sound like mixing valve is not mixing. do have 3/4 hook up to mixing valve? you only need 1/2" to valve.
