I believe this is a refractor style telescope. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2x or 3x barlow if you have one.

Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time. The moon should be your first target at night.

Why does it say "Lens error, restart camera? What

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Put the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it into the diagonal. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one. Go out side during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. Be sure the lens cap is off!

How to repair/replace lens in Philips DVD player

never use a solvent. that lens is delicate. if you have to use anything, use rubbing alcohol and a soft, lint-free cloth (or a q-tip). you can try and find an optical pickup assembly (the lens and motor) from www.mcmelectronics.com. replacing it is easy. there are 1 or 2 ribbon cables and 3 screws inside shock absorbers.
