Craftsman take apart

To take apart compressors you sometimes need special tools as well as the gasket kit to replace the old one. If you are changing the compressor due to a bad unit I suggest contacting Sears Parts . The how-to is as follows: remove all air and rust contaminants from the tank by bleeding. This is located on the bottom of the pressure tank. Disconnect any power and tools from unit. remove guards over the belt. Loosen the electric motor from the tank base or housing. (I am assuming that your motor and compressor head are not joined. If they are then you must remove the unit as a whole from the tank.) By loosening the motor you should be able to slide the motor or remove it. Do this carefully as the belts can do damage. Unbolt and remove the compressor head from the tank by removing the air supply inlet pipe from the compressor head to the tank. This connection is easily damaged so use only necessary force to remove it. The brass that the line is made from is usually brittle and will need to be replaced after this for safety. I hope that you have enough info here to start if not give me a better idea of what you are looking at.

I have an older Sears Craftsman air compressor 1hp, 100 psi twin cyl Model 106.154541. on the cyl base there is an oil fill directly across from this on the opposite side of the cyl base there is another...

The pump used on your compressor was incorporated into different designs thus needed access to oil fill from one side or the other. Part number for oil plug was std-220 or 27642, but you can use just regular standard pipe thread plug with square head. If the oil plug fits the other hole. Buy plumbing parts at Lowes. Good Luck

My dryer belt broke. Where do I get a new one and how do I install the belt. My book has been lost

Sears has stock on parts for major brand dryers Go to SEARS.COM and see with your make and model number

The top and front panel will need to be removed to service these parts
The drum will simply pull out once apart to replace the belt and tensioner pulley
The pulley has a bearing that wears out so replace that as well

I have an air compressor Model no. 919.167783 that has stopped building up pressure. Would like to fix myself. Need advice and possible parts that may be needed. Thanks

Sears compressor? You don't say.

Sears sells rebuild parts for their compressors. You probably need a new piston, rings and reed valves, gaskets, "O" rings. Give them a call or look up the parts on their web site.

I rebuilt a 6 hp Sears compressor - it is a doable task.

What happens is the rings wear so the air that is supose to go into the tank excapes past the rings back into the atmosphere and or, the reed valves wear and or become dirty and dont seal properly.

Good luck with your project and thanks for your interest in

Need manual: Kenmore sewing machine 158.9

Those books are long since out of print. Try contacting sewing machine stores who stock old instruction books. Many shops do this. Or try eBay.

I have a craftman oiless air compressor model # 919153210 that I need parts for and sears do not carry the part anymore. thank you for any help.,

Many of Sears oilfree compressors were made by Devilbiss. Try going to this address and enter your sears part numbers. (example cac-4281 for valve plate) They will most likely have the parts that you need. Good luck and email if you have other questions about your conpressor.
