You connect the Tv sound out to your sound card.

The sound card will either be onboard (the motherboard) or a separate PCI card .

You can find it by looking at the back of your pc and you should see 3 Micro Jack inputs Green, Pink and Blue. There may be more, these are the main ones.

Green - Line out to speakers.
Pink - Line in from Microphone.
Blue - Auxiliary line in.

I'd connect the tv card to the Blue input.

If your TV card only has a Phono connection you're going to need a cable with Phono on one end and Micro jack (3.5mm) on the other.

You need an Dual RCA to PHONO 3.5mm, this plugs into the EXTERNAL INPUT on the rear of the PC's sound system jacks.

My tv has one sub output socket, but my active sub woofer has a red and white input sockets.what lead do i need to connect it up with?

Sounds like the output on the TV is a phono socket or a jack and the inputs on the sub woofer take banana plugs. You need (or should make up) a lead with a phono or jack plug one and and two banana plugs the other end. (phono plug/socket has two connections and banana plugs just one)

If you can provide the model numbers of the two bits of equipment I can check this for you.

HOW TO CONNECT SAMSUNG 40 LCD TV TO SAMSUNG SURROUND TZ215 THRUGH SKY + HD BOX.

you will need the following = HDMI LEAD
Optical Audio Lead
Red and White phono Lead

Sky HD Box > connect to Tv via HDMI Lead.

Sky HD box > Connect the optical Audio, and the Phono Leads To your Surrounds sound.

The reason I am wanting you to connect the phono's as well as the optical audio out. Not all programs are transmitted with Dolby D so you will need these for normal sound to come through your surround sound.

One last thing I would like you to check is the sound settings on your Hd box.

OLD PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 4, 2, then ensure that Dolby D is displayed if not highlight and using the blue button change this to Dolby D. then arrow down to save.

NEW PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 0, Arrow along to SOUND then arrow down and change this to DOLBY D Then press the GREEN button.

Hope this Helps you out. IF so please leave a thumbs up

Connecting my HP Pavillion DV9500 laptop to my Samsung PS-42Q96HD

Sound more like your problem is with the connection to the TV. Make sure the connection at the TV is to an 'input' connector and not 'output'. Also, from the TV menu, if you can select the output the laptop is using make sure the sound is stereo an not 5.1 or 7.1 or something to that effect. All other connections seem to be in good shape. Good luck.

How to connect loptop pc to Hitachi 42 inch LCD

Sounds to me like an audio 3.5mm jack to L-R phono leads. The single jack connector would need to go into your pc's line-out port on the soundcard and the red and white phono connections on the other end go to either your television or home theatre system.

Not getting sorround sound from my tv

only the hd channels get great surround sound. if your tv has an optical audio out and your surround has the optical in input. then i suggest buying a fiber optic wire for the audio you'll hear a big differance. just hope that the audio stays in sync unlike my cheap *** koss system
