Usually when you don't see the display the problem will be the backlight system not the display hardware.

You can easily check what the problem is by a few simple tests. First turn the laptop on and look for a ghost like or faded image. You may have to get fairly close or off to the side or both before you can see it. If it looks like your normal desktop (you may even see the mouse cursor move) then the problem is the backlight or the backlight power board. Usually the power or inverter board.

If you don't see anything we want to find out if it is the video section or the display. To do this we need to connect an external monitor. The monitor should be automatically detected and show an image but you may need to swtich using the function key method. FN plus one of the F keys will switch or enable the displays.. If you see something here but cannot detect that ghost image it indicates the lcd is the problem. If you do see both the ghost and the desktop on the external that confirms backlighting. If you do not see either ghost or external image then you have a video hardware failure.

You can replace the backlight for about $60 on average plus labour. The lcd screen will be over $200 and up. And if the video section is gone then the only fix for that is replacing the mainboard. The video section is part of the main computer board not a seperate thing.

At this point you need to check if you have any warrenty store or factory. This would be covered regardless of what the problem is. You may want to search around for a repair shop and check prices for parts and labour assuming it is the backlight. If it is the backlight it is worth fixing. If it is the video section then you may spend about or just about the same as buying a new laptop to get it fixed.

No display on laptop's internal monitor, and there is no blinking cursor?
Start with seeing if it is a display problem.

Connect a VGA monitor to the laptop. If the display does not show on the external VGA monitor, the problem is the graphics chipset.

You did not state the model number of the Fujitsu laptop, therefore all I can give is generic basic information.

1) Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, connect a VGA monitor to the laptop.
This is an example of a VGA Cable, and a VGA connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

The VGA connector (Port) on your laptop is either on the side, or back of the laptop. May be marked on laptop as RGB.

You can use a CRT type of VGA monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor that has a VGA cable.

2) Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up.
Turn the laptop on.

By default the display should show on the external VGA monitor.
If not there are at least 3 display options;

1) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
2) Internal monitor of laptop AND external VGA monitor
3) External VGA monitor ONLY

Press the Fn key down, and at the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.

The Display Toggle-Over key is one of the F keys at the top of your keyboard. F1 through F12.
It will have a monitor symbol on it.
(For example most HP laptops use the F4 key )

No display on external VGA monitor? Hold the Fn key down again, and tap once more on the Display Toggle-Over key.

If no display shows on the external VGA monitor you have a bad graphics chipset. Motherboard replacement.

If a display does show on the external VGA monitor, you have a problem with the Video Cable, and/or in the Display Assembly.

Post back with the results, after using an external VGA monitor, in a Comment.

Screen blank with white dot

Problem with;

1) Video cable:

A) Video cable connection on motherboard side is loose, and/or on back of LCD screen.

B) Video cable is damaged.

2) screen Inverter:

screen Inverter is bad.

3) LCD screen:

LCD screen is bad.

4) Graphics chipset:

Graphics chipset is bad.

Suggest you connect a VGA monitor to the VGA port (Connector) on your laptop.
See if the problem is the graphics chipset, Or video cable, Or display assembly.

You didn't state what manufacturer and Model Number of laptop this is.
All I can do is state generic information.

This is an example of a VGA Cable, and VGA connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

The VGA connector will be on the side, or back of your laptop.
For the VGA monitor you can use a CRT type monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor that has a VGA cable.

Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, connect the external VGA monitor to the laptop.
Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up.

Turn the laptop on.
By default the display should show on the external VGA monitor.
IF not;

There are at least 3 display options.
1) Laptop internal monitor ONLY
2) Laptop internal monitor AND external VGA monitor
3) External VGA monitor ONLY

Press, and hold down on the Fn key, and at the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
(For an example HP's usually use the F4 key for a Display Toggle-Over key)

Display shows the same on the external VGA monitor?
You have a bad graphics chipset.

[ Some laptops have been erroneously stated as having a graphics card, when in fact they do not.
The GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is soldered directly to the motherboard.
This is Integrated Graphics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

There is no changeable, replaceable graphics card. Therefore the solution is motherboard replacement ]

IF, the display is good on the external monitor, you have a problem with the Video Cable, and/or in the Display Assembly.

After diagnosing with an external VGA monitor, post back in a Comment.
Also post the manufacturer name, and model number of the laptop.

One long beep, two shorter beeps - HP laptop will not start up

Hi...
I had the same problem...
The solution is only temporary and you will have to reapply it after around 5 to 6 boots cuz it'll just happen again (the beep syndrome).

Just heat up the laptop by turning it on and covering its air vents with your hands.

Then after you hear the beeps turn it off.
Turn the laptop on again and immediately turn it over upside down with the lid closed ofcoarse (simply put it on its back).Hopefully you wont hear the beeps and when you open up the laptop lcd...voila display.
