Question about HP Compaq nc6320 Notebook
I am having similiar problem as was in the thread for the issue of been locked out of my HP Compaq nc6320 pc, The unit powers on no problem, but is not accepting my username and password, if I purchase a new hard drive and upload it will this solve the access issue?
The notebook powers on fine and then you come to the Windows XP Professional, Welcome to Windows and it requests, 'Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin' which I do and then I come to which it then requests me to Log On to Windows, the username and password is not working with the details I entered and I unfortunatly puchased this second hand thinking I was getting a good deal. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this.
Paddy it seems windows login problem, may be you are not using correct user name or/and password or may be your password profile got currupted.
Anyway in your case as you have purchased it second hand, then you don't had have any specific program or file on the hard disk. So you can easily format your lap and installed new XP or Vista as per your requirement. It will solve your problem. But you should must have the device drivers to work and installed properly.
Yes if you will use new hard drive then you can install, but same things will be required as per above. So I will recommend you to install on same HDD don't buy new one.

You maybe able to disable it in bios then at screen click cancel.
if not you can reset bios and all passwords by removing rtc battery located underneath keyboard.
if you need a service repair manual showing disassembly for ur model I can post u one

it seems that its a not a problem with your hard disk at it load on to the windows succesfully. Chances are any one of these :-
1. Some one might have changed the user name or password.
2. The file that holds the password might be corrupted.
3.If you are using a network based login, ask your administrator for assistance.
The better solution is to Repair install or Re-Install the operating system...
( U might Lose your Data while doing it but not all the time)
