If you are useing USB mouse and keyb, you may activate the support for legacy / USB keyboard and mouse in the BIOS. The less problematic way is to use the PS2 mouse and keyboard.

Good luck!

When i try to install windows xp pro , it says press any key to boot from cd . then it says inspecting files.. then it just restarts everytime. do i need sata drivers

Hi there,
Please try going into the BIOS of your computer try to reload the defaults and check if it will happen again.
If it happens again, try going back to the BIOS and try staying there and see if the computer will restart.
If it restarts in BIOS mode that means your computer has a problem with the memory or the motherboard.
If windows xp cannot find a hard drive it will tell you that it cannot find a disk to install windows xp and will not restart by itself.
I think you have a different problem than just the sata drivers.
Hope this helps!

I purchased Hebrew Tutor and cannot install it on my Windows7, 64-bit computer. Please help.

Unfortunately, the Hebrew Tutor from QuickVerse was written for older Windows OS versions. It supports: Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP Home, XP Pro, or NT 4.0. The changes in the Windows OS over time has made the installer totally different and the program isn't signed for a 64-bit OS. http://www.quickverse.com/shopfiles/product_details.asp?ID=41011 has the support details.

There are two possible ways to work around the issue. The first is to try to install the program (and then run it) in the compatibility mode. This may work but often doesn't. Right click on the installer (from the CD's directory) and choose Properties. Then go to the Compatibility tab and chose Run this program as compatible with XP. Save and close the properties box. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. If it installs, repeat the compatibility process on the program itself.

The solution most likely to work is to use a computer with the compatible OS versions. This could be a physical second computer, a dual-boot machine or a virtual computer. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can run the virtual computer with XP for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode (in order) from Microsoft. For other setups, you will need a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Virtualization packages include Virtual PC, Parallels and VMWare. Then install the Hebrew tutor as you normally would to an XP computer. (Note: virtual computers do not share hardware with the real computer. You can only install a printer to one machine at a time. You can share files by saving them to external media (optical RW disc or flash drive for example).)

I hope this helps.

Why can't I download my CANO SCAN set up CD-Rom on to my new Windows 7

The CD-ROM has the installers for older versions of Windows. The installation routines for the newer versions of Windows have changed considerably from those that were in use when the CD was written. You can get the drivers and Canon Toolbox software for the scanner from Canon: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_lide25#DriversAndSoftware . Select Windows 7 in the dropdown menu. The software will work with any version of Windows 7.

The only exception is that the third-party software is not available for downloads. If you want to use the original CD software (assuming the disc is undamaged) and you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can download and install Virtual PC and XP mode for a free XP virtual computer. Then install the scanner to the "XP computer" as you normally would. However, the virtual computer and the Win7 computer cannot both have the hardware installed simultaneously. So to share files, you may need to save them to external media (optical or hard drive). If you have one of the other versions of Windows 7, you can do the same thing with any virtual PC program and a licensed older version of Windows.

I hope this helps.

How to reinstall windows XP

If your computer boots up you should be able to reinstall with your xp os disk, click on your cd drive & choose reinstall or new install, after that you'll probably have to go to windows update & update the system, if that does'nt work you may have to go to bios settings & set the cd rom as your boot devise, restart & install that way, after your done be sure to set the bios to thier default settings.

My xp computer turns itself on and off before i

Did you build the PC yourself? Did you put the spaces between the motherboard and the case. If the motherboard is not separated by the spacers and is touching the case, the board will short, causing it to reset over and over again.

One Beep after Checking NVRAM...Update OK

The Computer generates 1 beep. to state that the computer has set itself up properly, without errors. Depending on the bios manufacturer. i.e Pheonix or AMI et,c.
As long as your system is running fine with no crashes or errors.
Then this seems perfectly normal.

Unable to run Auto Installation Support CD, or Boot System

Is the new motherboard the same model with the one you have replaced. If so, there should have no problem on it. If it is different model, then you have to reconfigure the software installed such as the driver. your new motherboard surely has the CD included where the necessary software should be installed. But, the problem is that you cannot get to the WindowsXP screen..

Windows XP CD is also bootable.. Now in the bios setup there is a portion there that tells about on how to boot whether in drive a, hard disk or cd. Choose CD and inser the bootable Windows XP. In that way you should be able to get to the XP screen. Of course, you have to restart it to make the necessary changes but before that make sure you have saved the changes youve made to the bios setup.

Now if youre able to go to the main screen, uninstall software that are with your old motherboard and install the new one.

Hope to solve your problem.
