Question about Palit Microsystems GeForce 9600 GT, PCI Express Video Card

1 Answer

Blue screen of death.

When i try installing the card (Palit Nvidia 9600 GT 512), it crashes immediately after Win Xp logo comes up at the time of boot screen.

Without card, my machine works perfectly with onboard graphics.

OS - Win Xp sp3.
Mobo - Asus M2N MX SE.
Ram - Transtrend - 3 GB.
Processor - AMD Dual core 3800+.

Pls advise of the possible cause for this or if you need more info.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi DrKeemo, thnks for ur reply.

I tried checking BIOs to make changes as per your instructions but wasn't where to look for, hence i dropped that idea.
I tried running another card on my machine (everything else remains same no changes in BIOs) and it worked. Not sure wat is wrong this 96 GT one.

You might try setting the display adapter in the bios to PCI-X,
You could also try going into safe mode to see if you can install the new drivers and fix the problem.
Other than that you would need to stick the card in another computer and confirm whether it is functional.
I have the exact same card with Vista and had no issues, and have been very happy with it.
