By the Amperage it draws. at. 13 Amp, @ 110 V is 1430 Watts. 15 Amp, @ 110 V is 1650 Watts.
or resistance wise with a meter.
The 13 Amp one would have a resistance of, 8.5 OHMS. The 15 Amp one would have a resistance of, 7.3 OHMS

Trying to obtain part no 2572ahu106 for a BT3000 table saw

Its possible that the part number is known by different codes in different markets. Here's a US parts listing (with diagrams) for a Ryobi BT3000 circular saw.

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/ryobi-bt3000-table-saw-parts-c-7931_7954_7955.html

If you can find the correct part number from the diagrams and listings(which seem to be a completely different sequence of numbers), then google that new part number and see if you have any more luck.

I have a Ryobi BT 3000 and it appears the motor has gone out. blade reluctantly turns and green ''spark'' like appearance at the back of the motor. I have changed the belts before so... how much harder...

If the motor is turning "reluctantly" and sparking, there is a good chance that the problem is simply worn out brushes. Contact the company and see if you can get brushes -- a 5 minute 10 dollar fix that's certainly worth a try before buying a new motor. You can usually pull them out easily to check them.

The tech at ryobi gave me the parts # 662329001, for my bt 3100. I only see the bt3000 for this #. Are they the same part?

Yes the BT3000 and the BT3100 use the same drive belts. Just be sure to order 2 as they must be replaced in pairs.

Ryobi bt 3000 table saw belt installation diagram

The BT3000 actually has TWO v-belts! Here's a link at the end of this solution to an exploded diagram. Basically you have a major disassembly, but it really isnt that complicated.

More great info on the BT3000 is available from the web site http://bt3000.com/

I have a BT3100 saw, and it is a good tool, but does require attention in maintenance procedures, but Ryobi did outline the necessary steps in their manuals. The above website also has the owner manual if you need one.

  1. Unplug saw
  2. Remove the blade
  3. Lower mechanism all the way to the bottom
  4. Flip over saw and lay on it's top
  5. Remove the blade guard panel opposite the motor
  6. Unbolt the motor assembly and remove the belt cover
  7. Replace the broken belts
  8. Re-assemble (be careful not to cross-thread the bolts in the aluminum housings!)
