Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

You can try to open the case and remove the cell (battery) on the motherboard, it looks like a coin. Plug it back again. Also, you might wanna un-plug SATA cables and trying again.
Replace RAM chips (change their places if you have two or try with only one RAM plugged) . Also, try starting it without RAM.. if your computer continuously beeps then there might be a sign of recovery. If it still doesn't show anything. Get it checked. The problem could be with PSU (Power supply) or maybe the VGA Cord (doesn't seems like it is problem with that though).

Is your phenom Phenom-X3-8450e or AMD-Phenom-X3-8450 ?
8450e is suported by that mobo but in the asus suport page you wont find 8450.
Check here https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A785M/HelpDesk_CPU/
8450e runs on 65w and 8450 runs on 95w.
Does your mobo run with your old CPU?

We experienced a power outage today, our Gateway GT5408 was in Stand-by mode when it happened. After our power was restored, our computer will turn on with the cooling fans running and the leds light up,...

It could be the monitor died or the monitor cable is loose at one of the ends ( check both ends are connected and tight ).
try another monitor or if you have a newer TV with a vga monitor connector try your TV. (you will need to change the TV input to computer or to VGA )

Make sure motherboard circuit could not ground with cabinet.
Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes .

Reattach VGA card if installed.
Then check.

Hanns g JC199D will not turn on, comp is on, try to turn monitor

no signal indicates a couple things... i suspect your computer isn't even booting up. reboot the computer while tapping the F8 key.... you should see writing on the screen... boot to safe mode. after it sucessfully boots up... reboot again... should be fine.

Robert

also is that an add on video card ?

Monitor clip

Hello,
the solution for you is to take your monitor and flip it upside down and re-align the slot on the monitor clip /stand so that it lines up with the front of the monitor. Return the monitor back to its normal position on the desk and it should now behave properly.

Good Luck!

Problem During Boot-Up

several things it could be but im going to look at the obvious the battery and cord hook up
laptops when plugged into contstant 120 power the battery is supposed to go into stand by mode and shut battery off so power dont leak into battery
if you have low battery with it plugged into 120 the comp will still think the battery is powering the laptop if battery dead then comp shuts down lack of power

other thing is somehow you caught a virus that reboots comp from dos screen mode
the main thing i always ask is what was the last thing that happened before it did what its doing now
example= was there a power surge pop up screens ect.

Monitor problems

ok ,you may have two monitor drivers installed, or if it is wireless the driver may be faulty etc... a problem like this occur when you have two places on a monitor can be attached to your motherboard, direct or PCI, hat means look at the back of your comp. if there is a similar port that the one your using then when the monitor goes blank and just sits their, switch it over, and you should get an image. if its a driver problem, then safe mode will only work, and reinstall your PCI TO PCI or: your PCI BRIDGE drivers in the computer managment console. good luck. if all fails try using an older monitor or just a spare. cheers.
