Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a Proview 700P MA-782KC LCD Monitor that has a slight 'hums' when plugged in, but doesnt seem like it's getting power. The LED doesnt do anything (stays off) and the On button no longer responds. Any idea's what the problem could be? I'm not scared of a soldering iron! ;)

How can i fix my hitachi ultravision it has green and double vision on top of screen

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

When i plug in my tv it makes a huge humming noise but there is no picture, has power to the tv but u just get that humming noise ..what can it be?

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

ive had this tv/monitor for years just sitting there collecting dust. a buddy gave it to me to see if i could fix it because he couldn't. well gotta open it up and look on one of the main boards and look for blown capacitors. look for the ones with round tops. they should flat not rounded/bulging. replace those and then your monitor/tv should work again.

First there are a few questions. Did You disconnect fly back xformer (black honeycomb looking deal with red large gauge wires)? Did you make sure your solder splash didn't bleed over on causing shorted amplfier(s)? Have you identified what component has went home to ma ma? You should see discoloration on either board, replace blown fuse power board replace damage part(s) and go over real good before applying power.
