Follow the power cord inside the set as it goes almost directly and non stop to the AC line fuse.

We had a power outage. TV and video both now dead. Changes fuses in plugs, still dead. Could the fuses in the appliances be blown ?

HELLO

Power outages can damage electronic items!

It is certain that the fuses in each of the units power supplies will be blown but I would recommend that you get both in for servicing as sometimes changing the fuses INSIDE and trying them again CAN cause more damage - and more cost to repair.

Better to be safe than sorry! (:-)

RCA TV F31317 - can't turn power on - suddenly, it stopped workin

just follow the power cord where it goes into the tv and there is a small glass fuse right there, check to see if the small wire inside it is burnt out or if the fuse appears to be white or black inside.

RCA 32" wont turn on

It sounds like you may have a bad Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) and/or a bad Flyback Transformer. The set is trying to start as indicated by the flashing light, but an internal fault is shutting it down right away. It could also be the Power Supply circuit. A 32in. set is not cheap to replace so it may be worth finding a repair technitian and at least getting a quote. The Flyback is the most expensive part, the others are minimal. If it is one of the above problems it could easily be repaired by a qualified technitian.

Sony KV-32S36 32" suddenly stopped working, no picture or sound

Check soldered in fuse R607 in power supply circuit =
If open, replace it and bad converter xistors ( 2SC4834)
Next, replace shorted horizontal output transistor w/ first Quality.
Solder any / all bad connects, esp.horiz drive to base of horiz.
o / p xistor. Soldering is critical or it will blow up again......

Tv popped and stopped

The over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits. It's best to have a Certified TV repairman look at it. Generally when this happens, the TV keeps getting worse and repairs can get expensive. If the repairs are over $300, then I would look into buying a new set.

This fuse regulates that power supply to the tv and can be found at the end of the power cord prior to the circuit board. Hope this helps.
