Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

I want to set a home page but when i accept it as the homepage i am told changing of home page blocked. all i have for the home page is http:// and then nothing else; and of course this page cannot be displayed

Reset your internet explorer settings.

  1. Launch Internet explorer. Click Tool and click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
  4. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
  5. Start Internet Explorer again and then try to set your homepage again.

IE will not let me set my home page. It keeps


check to see if you have a feature in your security software ( like your antivirus or antispyware software) that blocks homepage changes, if a glitch accidentally changed your homepage, it might not let you change it back
