How do I get an O ring for the Rider 2. The unit leaks water when it rains and there is an O ring to protect it, but it doesn;t.

I would say you need to fix the wall first wnd seal the ingress of water, then when dried out thoroughly, re plaster.

Four possible causes (may be more):
1. Leak at door or window/windshield (particularly after rain or car wash).
2. The heater core is leaking (water will be on the passenger side floor).
3. Blocked A/C condensation drain
4. Leaking sunroof or blocked drain (should be evidence of water on the A or B pillars, also after rain or car wash)).

Pick one ...

I'd try pouring water harshly towards the windshield, (outside, of course). Next, do the same with driver's side door. If this fails, try again with a water hose. Remember, when it's raining, there's much pressure, especially if you're driving. I would really try to get water to leak into vehicle, it would be much easier with a friend's assistance. Sounds like the door gasket or trunk gasket is not sealing.
You may have to take it to a body shop to find the problem.

I had the same problem. There is a 2 piece metal tank inside. The top and bottom of the tank are connected with screws & nuts, and there is a rubber o-ring between the two pieces. The grove for this o-ring is very shallow and it doesn't fit tightly, increasing the probability of misalignment during the assembly process. I was unable to fix the leak, IMHO the grove is too shallow and the o-ring is not thick enough. I decided it was poorly designed & trashed the unit.

that's because it's easy. it's like a radiator, disconnect hoses, replace unit, re-connect hoses

I had the exact same issue. I left mine out for the winter and when I plug it in, the breaker trips. My warranty was up so my friend took it apart. The seal had broken alowing water to leak into the bottom the pump where the wires connect to top of motor. This is supposed to be water free and is protected by several seals.

I am currenlty trying to put sealant where the cord goes into unit to stop water from going in. I will let you know how that works.

One tip my friend recommeded is to make sure there is no stress on the cord as it appears this seal is weak and and kind of stress will break it. hope this helps -- Rob
