SOURCE: ONKYO TX-SR606 Single output to TV

Hi there. for your receiver, the only time it can upconvert is when you go out as HDMI. In your current hookup (component out to tv) the signal from your cable (using a composite) will not be able to pass through the component cable. This means you either have to hook up your cable box using a component cable as well or add a composite cable (yellow) from monitor out of the receiver to the tv. Page 22 of the manual will show a diagram of the video signal flow. hope this helps.. ^_^

SOURCE: Onkyo TX-SR706; Turntable output only from one speaker

Try some troubleshooting to check whether its the turntable or the the receiver.

What happens if you exchange the output cables of the turntable from left to right. Does the problem shift?
Does the sound changes from left to right speaker?

Similarly try on the inputs of the Receiver.. does the problem shift...?
This way you will be able to isolate the problem, whether with the receiver or the turntable....

Let me know, we can trouble shoot it further....

SOURCE: Sony PS-LX200H turntable plugged in to Onkyo TX-8211 inputs

After a few years it may be time to consider a new cartridge for the turntable. The current one may have given up the ghost. You might also want to check that the output cables from the turntable to the receiver are firmly plugged in. They may have come loose if someone was moving things or cleaning. Yet another thing to consider is the input on the receiver may not be working. You can test this by plugging in a cable with RCA plugs on both ends and touching the pins on the unconnected end. If the input's okay you'll hear a hum.

Probably it's time for a new cartridge. They don't last forever, especially if you, like me, are someone who still plays a lot of old vinyl!

SOURCE: Onkyo TX-SV414Pro

setting the stations goes like this:

First hit class a, b, c etc, and to clear out what is there, hit 1, then hit both memory and the one next to it at the same time to delete what is in there, To program, hit memory, then quickly, class a, b, c, etc. What it does it store that station in the NEXT AVAILABLE slot, so it is best to clear all slots, and have the station call numbers ready in the order you wish to set them.

I recently purchased an onkyo tx-nr626 receiver with phono input. When playing albums , I don't get full sound. Sound is clear but not full and loud.

Different cartridges put out various levels based upon their technology - make sure you are using the proper input for their output. A line level input 1V P-P won't work on most phono cartridges and will require a preamp to boost it to the higher level.

My Onkyo TX-SR506 plays cable and CD inputs to zone 2, but DVD won't play. Everything is connected according to the manual and I assigned zone 2 output correctly. What gives?

How are your cable and cd inputs hooked up? Analog connections? Alot of receivers cannot send an audio signal from hdmi inputs to zone 2.

No USB.

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO).

Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?
c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2

and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono".

Hooking laptop to onkyo sr604 through hdmi no sound through stero

hdmi is video only

you will need to use the rca/phono inputs for audio.

you will need a stereo mini jack to steroe rca/phono

use the i/p marked aux/cd/

make sure the volume on the onkyo is turned DOWN before connecting any new input source.

The output from most laptops is designed for headphones so you may need to adjust the volume on the laptop DOWN as well.

Perhaps start off with laptop at 30% and the amp DOWN then increase the amp until you can hear the laptop sound.

To get good quality audio from a laptop you would be beter off with a USB sound card.

hope this helps, thanks for using FixYa

How can I connect my Onkyo TX-SR507 to a PC to play MP3 files

The easiest way is to use a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cord and connect the output of the sound card to an AUX input on the receiver. These cables are readily available and cheap. You shoul dhave 3 mini jacks on the back of the computer related to the sound card setup.

1) Audio input mic
2) Audio input line
3) Audio output line

Connect the receiver to the audio output line jack.

New receiver....old CD, record and tape players

Most new recievers don't have a "phono" input. If your record player is an older kind without a built in preamp, you will need to purchase a Phono pre-amp (about $25) and then you can use any input you wish.
