Convergence Problem I have mostly red shadows. After reading all the posting I believe I have a convergence proble and am trying to replace part number stk392-110. I'm not an electronic guru but how do I separate the part from the circuit board? Any lay person instructions I can get would be very helpful

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

It sounds like the color wheel has gone bad and needs to be replaced. This is located behind the back panel... replacing a new colour wheel will solve ur problem

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

does it cast red shadows on the picuture.. red shadows around letters. might be the red convergence or could be the read yoke has come loose
