SOURCE: how to modify a 1000 series, 3.52 version psp?

You may want to learn the functions before attempting to modify it.

You need a pandora battery to modify it and a special memory card with the software you want to put on it. The pandora battery forces the PSP to boot from the memory card.

If the process if done wrong, the PSP's system software can become irreversibly corrupted so be careful.

I drooped my psp and it wouldn't work at all what

ok so your psp is bricked, meaning it has a issue with software! sony can fix the issue, for a hefty price! i can unbricked any 2000 series or 1000 series but my recovery battery [aka pandoras battery] and magic stick [ the files used by the P. Battery in order to reapir the the probelm] dont work on 3000 series

If you have a 3000 then check your warrenty to see if the store you bought it from can cover it, or call sony and they can repair it but i will say they are gonna be fair or else they LOSE A COSTUMER! they may ask for some money in the beginining, but they will garuntee the repair! any issues after they will take care of!

so if you have a 2000 or below also call sony now!

I can't find where is the option for usb charge in settings-system settings.... I need to charge my psp with an usb cable, what to do?

didnt i already try to answer this, gosh ok man if you have a 1000[phat psp's] it doesnt have a usb charge option

so since your not telling me ehat version you have, its in system settings and if it not there for your 2000 or 3000 psp it could be the firmware,

so make sure your looking correctly, look in system settings and its one of the top options called usb charge set to on,

now if its not there then check on the bottom of your psp where theres a barcode sticker, if you see PSP-1000 then you cant recharge it cause it doesnt have the feature

My firmware is 5.03 I need custom firmware/CFW enabler via HEN ?

this only works for 1000 series and 2000 series!

i have a pandora's battery that my friend made for me and i simply use this and files on a memory stick from a program on this site!

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/688507 go to kanelitas message and he will tell you how to install the files needed to mod your psp! if you have a newer psp 2000 series im not sure you will be able to make a pandoras battery with the programs provided by psp pandora deluxe! 1000 may be able to run pandora installer but i havent tryed it with a regular fat battery on a 1000 series!

So my point is i can tell you how to install the files with psp pandora deluxe to your memory stick but if you cant make a pandoras battery with the programs provided it may not work with official firmware!

A pandoras battery lets you run a program that lets you install a m33 driver[ modded software ] so in the hopes that you have a 2000 series or lower here i go!

tools! 1. One PSP 2. USB cord for PSP 3. at least 512 mb memory stick pro duo 4. Windows xp [ sorry but i havent tested installing the modding files with vista i cant say vista will install pap pandora deluxe!] 5. PSP CHARGER always have it on a charger nko matter what until you cease modding!

ok So Kanelita states you dont need a pandoras battery! wow i cant say thats true! cause see since i have a pandoras battery i have a treasure im lucky to have obtained. so heres what i did with a pandoras battery! but he claims you dont so stiil try it!

Chargind psp

If it’s the 2000 series (PSP Slim), then yes. Connect your PSP system to an available USB port on your computer. Turn on your PSP, then under “Settings“, select “USB Connection”. Your PSP should connect to your computer and start charging. It may take awhile, but it will charge it all the way. Hold the display button (The button with the rectangular shape at the bottom of your PSP) until the screen goes black. This will speed up the charging process and is a good method of prolonging battery life when listening to music or other things.

If that doesn’t work, try looking for an adapter lying around your house that matches the volt numbers. The PSP takes 5V. Most portable CD players use 5V adapters and are usually the same size as needed for the PSP. I suggest using an adapter that matches the volt number and fits without trouble. If the orange light doesn’t come on or the PSP acts weird after charging, I’d stop using the adapter. Ask me any questions if you have any. ;)
