Hi and Welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

An E39 code is telling the control assy that the 8 switches for the dispenser are not present. This is usually caused by a disconnected connector on the dispensor. Check to make sure that all the harness wires in the back of the dispensor are connected. To pull the dispensor completely out there is a plastic thumb tab at the very back of the dispenser that must be depressed to get it all the way out so that you can check the harness connections.

On a new machine if you can not do this yourself it would qualify for a warranty repair. Do not be afraid to make that dreaded service call. It will be on GE's tab.

Thanks for using FixYa.

What about if you run TEST 12 and the dispensor functions normal but when you try and run a wash cycle it will not start and gives E39. What then??

  • XMXX Aug 02, 2012

You need to clear the error log. Run T02 and then hold down start. It should display E0.

False ink empty

Are you sure its exclamation mark?..
This warning message related to print head. (warn out). When you are replacing ink tube assembly use dummy print heads to do the priming (new ink tubes are empty & they have to fill with ink)..
Action: Remove all cartridges and print heads, switch on the printer follow the screen message.(Insert cartridges first next dummy print heads).once its recognizes cartridges then it switch over to print heads, insert dummy print heads. Once printer recognized the dummy print heads, printer will perform priming, during priming dummy print heads will filled with respective inks.(follow the display message)Remove dummy print heads & insert normal print heads. Wait till printer recognizes print heads, load the paper & wait till performs the calibration, once calibration is successfully done issue closed.
If calibration not successfully done, check align print out for which print head is not printed properly, replace it..
Pl ensure that minimum 50% ink levels required in cartridges before performing the priming. Best of luck..

Error codeLr?

The LR code means "locked rotor" which is just a way of saying the control is not seeing the motor turning.

The image below contains the wiring diagram for this washer as you requested but there are some other things to consider.

Usually when the LR code is displayed the motor has stopped turning for some reason. By definition the LR code means the control has tried to turn the motor but was unable to.

The error code can be caused by to large of load, to much soap/suds in the water or a problem with the spin bearing. The cause of the LR message can be little problem like suds or a major problem like the spin bearing and sometimes it's difficult to pin down. You don't mention in your question if the LR code occurs every load or once a week.

More information on when the error is occurring would be helpful resolving this problem. Try running a rinse and spin cycle empty and see if the washer completes the cycle.

The 2nd image contains the information on how to enter and run a diagnostic cycle which may help pin the source of the problem down. This test completes all functions of the washer is a short time. It will fill, tumble, drain and spin all is a few minutes. At the end of a successful test cycle a PA should display which means "Passed" and is what you want to see.

Our tumble action front-loader washer just recently started leaving black marks in the pattern of the holes on the inside of the washer drum- We ran it twice without anything in the washer, and it still...

Thanks for stopping by:

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some de-greaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

I found a small part (looks like the top part of a pen) in my washer, now when i turn on the washer the goes in but does not stop, does not start the wash cycle. Also door keeps locking and unlocking.

How to run a diagnostic test:
  1. Unplug power cord, then wait 30 seconds.
  2. After plugging in, follow these instructions...
To Enter SERVICE MODE: Press Signal-Delay-5ignal-Delay (within 30 seconds of plugging in washer).
To Exit SERVICE MODE: Repeat Signal-Delay-Signal-Delay.

Front loader washing machine EWF1087 stopped half way and did not drain, E50 was displayed. Emergency emptying out the water was done and try to restart. Could not start, still displaying E50. What to do?

the error code E50 indicates that the motor has become overheated, you should give it an hour to cool then try running the washing machine again. I'm also including a link to pdf below with the common error codes for your brand of washer in case you have any other problems

Ok my LG front loading washer agitates but when it comes to spin it makes a very irritating high grinding noise and does not spin. There is no error displayed but that may be because I stop it before it...

I have a similar problem. The washer was showing error code UE, but would tumble when empty in test mode, but would not spin and made a grinding noise. The bolt that attaches the rotor to the motor was loose and the rotor was spinning on the spindle that rotates the drum. I tightened the bolt, and it spins when empty, but still gives a UE error code when full. Remove the rear cover and check the tightness of the center bolt.

suds is determined using the level sw located on top right rear side. remove top cover to see. most letter codes do convert to a f code. most common reason for suds error is use of standard detergent or too much detergent. running a empty load of fabric softener can clean the system. or rinse/spin with nothing. other common problem is this is a whirlpool product.

LE comes up on the display window halfway through cicle.

IE is a water inlet error. It could be that your water valves are plugged as you suspect. What you can do is put the unit into a test mode and check your valves to see that they are working once you have checked your hoses and connections.
Make sure unit is empty and never try this with anything inside.
press and hold Spin Speed and Soil Level then press on and release
press the start button to advance
1 time tumbles
2 low spin
3 high spin
4 prewash valve (once spinning has stopped valve will turn on)
5 main wash
6 hot water
7 bleach, should be a lesser flow as it has a restrictor
8 tumble counter clockwise
9 temp in tub
10 drain
11 off
if your hoses are clean and the filters, and your water pressure is good, you may have a bad valve.
note, before it starts the door lock will engage.
