I have a whirlpool stackable set of high efficiency dryer and the alarm sounds off many times before the clothes are dry. I check the screen and clean it but the alarm still goes on numerous times. What can it be?

Why is my Whirlpool cabrio platinum dryer leaking water, and taking over an hour to dry clothes?

Is this an older dryer? Long drying times are often caused by lack of good heating or poor air movement through the drum. Air movement depends on a properly turning fan and a clear exit of hot moist air to the outside vent. Check and see if you get a strong blast of air from your outside vent. If you don't, you may have a fan problem, plugged vent, or kinked vent tube. The water leaking could be because you don't have any drying going on due to the aforementioned problems.

I am renting a house that has an old whirlpool stackable washer/dryer combo. The dryer doesn't heat up very much and it takes 3 hours to dry a small load. Landlord had a tech look at it and found...

Under normal operating conditions, the hot air blown into a clothes dryer's tumbler reaches a temperature of about 175 degrees Celsius.
If its getting hot at all, the problem is with the amount of air that it is dispensing, maybe due to the fan not turning or the duct being plugged up.
Either way there is a problem that needs to be examined.

My Kemore stackable dryer does not work properly. I have to run the dryer 3 or 4 times to dry a load. Does feel hot at times when I open the dryer and feel the clothes.

Perhaps you have an air restriction of some sort. Cleaning the dryer and checking the vent can greatly increase efficiency. I recently replaced the glides and belt on one of these and made some repair photos. The dryer was plum full of lint all over the controls and everywhere. I took a shop vac to it before I snapped the pictures later that day. I have included a manual also HERE.

Alarm sound while drying

It sounds like you have it on the "wrinkle free cycle". (I can't remember what the cycle is actually called with out looking it up.) It will tumble your cloths and then alarms to tell you to take them out before they wrinkle. If you don't take them out, it will tumble them again and alarm again, etc.

It takes a long time to dry a load of clothes

sounds as if you may have an issue with a blocked/clogged ventin, perhaps wher it leaves the home, a unit that is not able to expell the heat will tend to not dry the clothes properly, 2-3x to dry a good sign of venting issue

Does not dry clothes. I can run it for three hours before they get dry. The outside of the machine is very hot to the touch. Vent seems to open as I can feel the exhaust outside.

Although you may feel the exhaust, the airflow my not be sufficient to dry your clothes efficiently and costing alot of money on your utility bill. A hot machine is a good indicator that this is the case. Proper airflow across the heater is important to maintain heater efficiency. If airflow is poor, the heater will overheat and eventually fail. If the vent system goes through the roof, the vent screen is probably blocked. If the vent system is longer than 10ft, there is probably lint accumulated in the pipe. Check out this site http://www.linteater.com/.
Remember..the purpose of the dryer vent is to get rid of moisture. If the moisture can't be removed quickly....the clothes will take a long time to dry, no matter how much heat there is....
