How to remove the DVD drive

Turn off and unplug the laptop, some where on the bottom of the laptop will be a single screw, about 5 inches from the DVD drive edge of the laptop, remove it, it may be a long. Once that is removed, open the drive's tray, using a paperclip (stick it into the "very small hole" in the front DVD drive draw, and press it in slowly...) the door/draw will open. Grab the door/draw and slowly pull out, IF it doesn't come out, you may have removed the wrong screw... try again.

Hp g62 wont play or eject

The first thing you can try is to put a paperclip into the small hole in the front face of the dvd drive to pop open the tray (if you can't get it open). If you put in a CD, and it won't read it, and put in a DVD and it won't read it, then chances are your DVD drive is no longer working, and needs to be replaced.

Today I inserted a DVD into the reader on my laptop NPQ320H and it did not start to read the DVD, next I tried to eject the DVD but nothing happened. When I open the control panel the DVD does not show up...

on every dvd drive on any laptop there shoud be a pinhole to eject the dvd. use a paperclip insert it on the pinhole and it will eject the dvd inside. if your dvd still not working after ejecting. right click on my computer then click on manage then go to device manager and check if your dvd drive is detected. if its not detected there something wrong with the drive and has to be sent for repair

Dvd player on my hp computer will not open to insert dvd or cd's

If it doesn't eject right when you press the eject button right after you power it on, then its not being locked by software and there is either a defect with the button mechanism, the ejecting motor, or the power system.
If you don't need to use it often, you can try manually ejecting it with a paperclip. If it reads the cd / dvd discs, then it is just an issue with the button or motor. If it won't read discs then you'll probably need to replace the unit. If your HP is a desktop, you can use any type of drive (BluRay, CD DVD DL, R, RW etc), as long as you verify it has the same data / power connectors (PATA / SATA). If your not sure the difference, here is an image of two hard drives that have the different connections:
If you have a laptop, you can try contacting Hewlett-Packard with your model, product number, and serial number (on bottom of the laptop) and they may be able to send you an appropriate replacement.
Another alternative would be a using a portable USB disc drive.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

Dvd drive won't open

you can try opening it with paperclip if it's stuck. Straighten the clip and locate a small pinhole on the drive it and insert the clip in. You might need to push the paperclip in an out a few times to eject the drawer.

CD tray not opeing

Perhaps it didn't fully latch so the CD drive doesn't think it's closed? Try opening and closing the door manually by straightening out a paperclip, then inserting it into the little hole in the front of the CD door. That should open it. Once open, close it and see if it will now open when you press the Open/Close button.

Cd/dvd tray won't open, no response from button to open

Follow this solution below, or use a paperclip inserted into the tray hole and it will open for a temporary measure, or go to your drive in my computer, right click and select eject and see if it will open. Try also uninstaling your dvd in system properties, by right clicking and select delete, then restart pc to see if it's found again, but when the pc boots it should check the drive, you will notice the light on front of dvd light up, if not there is no power or the dvd is dead.
