Question about Samsung SF-5100 Plain Paper Laser Fax
Have a fuser error. Have unplugged and replugged back in and changed the toner. Is this an easy fix? thanks Sally West K & L Farms, LLC
Take the case off,
there are 2 screws holding white cables on the LHS,
case back on,

I am not familiar with this model but the fuser assembly is typically located very close to the exit area of your unit.
This MAY be either a quartz lamp or a solid state heater that uses heat and pressure to fix the loose carbon permanently to the paper.
Its operation can be noticed (if working) by a pronounced higher level of warmth near the document exit.
This may be user replaceable but I wouldn't advise it unless the operator's manual describes the procedure.
The part is not terribly expensive:
Scan down the page for your model number.
Before siccing a tech o nthis, you might want to open the machine as far as you can without unscrewing stuff and inspect the guts of it; sometimes the error code is wrong about the source of the problem but in this case, it is technically simple to monitor the fuser temperature and report the failure to heat.
