Hi there,

If you are not very good with computers then this is definitely a job for a qualified technician. Computer components are very sensitive to static electricity and can easily be damaged by something as simple as touching a internal component.
If you can see any dust in the fan outlet then use a vacuum cleaner to **** out the dust. Apart from that, a service professional is your best bet.

Hope it helps :)

Hp 6730b gets hot quick..what to do?

Remember Laptops are delicate and it is avoidable to open them.
Especially if you are not a technician or knowledgeable about them.

Try and remove the dirt from the fan using a low power vacuum from outside.

Use a cooling pad Laptop Cooling Pads
and save yourself the risk of a working laptop.

Moreover I suggest get the internals cleaned when you undertake a upgrade for example HDD to SSD

My Hp envy cooling fan always on and makes noise, i clean the vent but still

Fans usually wind up pretty high and slow down once the OS has loaded. The fan itself may be filled with dust and/or have a dry bearing. Well, if you're comfortable with taking apart your laptop,, usually keyboard off first, you might be able to see the fan or at least part of it. This is where an old toothbrush or your wifes soft long bristled old makeup brush will come in handy to gently clean between the blades of the fan. Get it as clean as possible, put your keyboard back on and test it. If it still makes noise, then its probably a dry bearing in which case you'll have lots more to take apart to completely remove the fan. you might be able to get some light sewing machine oil to the bearing and try it again. Otherwise, go to a computer repair shop for a new one but, they rarely ever go bad. Just get REALLY dirty. And don't forget to clean on the inside of the fins too with that toothbrush.

Why isMy Acer aspire gettting really hot, would replacing the battery help?

Sometimes, the computer gets really hot because the "ventilation" (cooling) system (fan, etc.) is not working properly. Normally, if it gets too hot, i.e. to an unacceptable level, the system will shut down. Or, it will catch on fire.
Yes, it's known that some battery will get too hot ... and potentially damage the system. So, if you already know that the cooling system is working properly, then try replacing the battery.

Plug in not charging

You may have to take the laptop apart. My Acer was not charging because my son would have the a/c power adaptor rub against his leg (where it entered the laptop)...But !!! first do you have a voltage meter, check the power supply 1st probably a bad a/c adaptor. If not go to YouTube and see if there is a video that shows how to dismantle your laptop. Be happy it is not your cooling fan..they build the entire laptop around the cooling fans. A trip to the dentist is more fun than replacing a laptop cooling fan.

My laptop gets hot andd shuts down

The problem is a bad cooling fan, or major cleaning is in order. The laptop must be taken apart down to the motherboard level, and in some cases the main board removed, dismantle the fan and heatsink, use a can of compressed air to clean out the dust and dirt on both. Next remove the old thermal grease from the processor and heatsink, use rubbing alcohol with a paper towel to do the job, finally apply fresh thermal paste to both and assemble.

Alienware m15x fan noise problem

Get a can of compressed air and give a good blast to open ports and cooling fans, this may resolve the issue, if not the fan will need to be replaced. I do recommend the computer be taken apart down the road for good cleaning.

Check for power to the fan and for a good ground. If those are both present then you would need a fan. If your old fan rubbed a hole in your radiator then I would definately check to see if the fan has play in it that would case it to hit the radiator.

My Compaq Presario F730US keeps overheating the fan does not run properly what docking station do you recommend me to buy

I would recommend cleaning out the vents and geatsink grills with compressed air. I would then remove the heatsink unnit and replace the thermal grease on the heatsink and processor. Most laptops do not need any additional cooling if thier heatsinks are free of dirt, dust and debris. The compressed air can be bought at office supply chains. Just use short bursts of air and clean all the compartments including the cd tray. Just make sure to power down the laptop first and remove the battery.

Laptop Cooling Problem

Don't think you will find any documentation online to help you disassemble. Unless someone around here has some Toshiba field service manuals in pdf form.

Sounds like you just need to replace the fan. They do go bad over time. Also, don't used high pressure compressed air to clean out a fan. Unless you hold the fan still using a small screwdriver. The compressed air, if too much, will ruin a fan's bearing if you let it spin freely while blowing out. The canned compressed air showed be ok though.

You can search on ebay for a replacement fan, might be used though. Could do a google search for a new one. Somewhere like Notebookparts.com.

And I think the A45 may have two fans in it. If you can get inside of it, which sounds like you have allready, then you should be able to easily identify the fan(s).
