Question about ViewSonic VX910 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Viewsonic VX710 Monitor scrren goes black

The screen on my monitor is totally black..... It was working great yesterday, but today nothing. When I tried unplugging everything and rebooting my system, it quickly presented a normal screen image, however it was only for a send, maybe two seconds at the most.

I have also tried pushing every button available and in doing so (this might be the biggest clue?) when I push #2 on the monitor, the screen displays again, but only for a second/second and a half, then goes black again. This leads me to beleive it's just a setting issue, however if I can't see the screen for more than a second or two, I don't know how I can see anything long enough to make any changes.

Please HELP............ This is my home office computer and I need to access my company documents ASAP

THANK YOU.....

The picture on my monitor works for a half of a second when I first turn it on, then it fades to black. What can I do to fix this?

If you can see your desktop faintly in the background, this means that the CFL lighting tubes have stopped working and would need to be replaced. However try to increase the brightness using the buttons on the monitor.

My viewsonic vx710 lcd monitor shuts off after @ a hour of operation then won't come on for @15 minutes

Check the power supply section first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor will not turn on

It could be bad caps on the power supply. Look for bulging caps and replace them if bad.

ViewSonic monitor 171b. I turn and after about 30 sec goes black

The problem could lie in your monitor screen not having enough power. This could lead to total destruction of your monitor as i had this problem before. The best solution: Get a new monitor or get it fixed.

Viewsonic VA712b 17 " flat screen monitor

Realheadache, Unusual problem, it could be the resolution and refresh rate setting your PCs video card is currently set at. I don?t know if this will fix your problem but its worth a try: - Now go to your PC with the old monitor connected, right click anywhere on the desktop. - Left click Properties from the box that appears. - When the Display Properties box appears click on the Settings tab. - Make note of the screen resolution. - Change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768. - Click on the Advanced button in the lower right hand corner. - In the next box that appears click on the Monitor tab. - In the Monitor settings section of this page record the value of the Screen refresh rate. Then change it to 60 Hertz. - Close this and the Display Properties box by click on the OK button. - Now try connecting your new monitor. Let us know if this helps and as always please don?t forget to rate this posting.
