Check the micro switches on the cd mechanism. these can go wrong sometimes. it's obviously not sending a message to the micro chip that the tray is open therefor it will close again automatically.

hope this helps?

Door keeps opening.

Replace the loading tray belt, it is quite a common problem on CD Players using the same Sony transport mechanism as your Arcam.
The belt loses its tension and cannot fully load and then spits the tray open.
When you try to load a CD you should be able to hear a whirring sound after closing the tray and that's the motor trying to lift the laser mechanism at full travel but is unable to hence not enough tension on the belt.

Hope this helps.

My cd player stopped working the power light is not showing i have changed the lead to make sure it was not the fuse

Check for bulging / leaky capacitors on the main PCB, they are a common problem on Arcam CD Players.
There should be a few 25v 1000uf caps scattered around, check those first.

Hope this helps.

The tray on my Arcam Alpha 6 CD player will not eject and refuses to budge. Neither the remote control nor the load button on the front of the unit will make it open.

It's either the gear on the tray loading mechanism or it's drive belt. The gear is made of a soft material and the teeth wear down on the hard tray rack. Get hold of Arcam and order TP21H replacement part and belt. The same happened to me and the gear had perished. In the meantime stick something onto the front of the tray that you can use to pull it open after you have pressed the 'load' key. Place your CD in the tray, press the 'load' key and push the tray closed manually. The player will work like this until you can replace the gear/belt.

Logik LBD1000 will not play disks

Get the software update from here. Burn the DAT file and the IMAGES folder to a cd. Now start your player and wait until screen displays no disc. Now insert cd and close tray. software will update and cd will eject. Remove cd and close tray. Player will restart by itself and your software will be updated.

The player only intermittently recognizes CDs inserted; it does not seem to make any difference whether they are commercial, recorded at home, etc. Sometimes it says "insert disk," sometimes "no disk." ...

A CD tray is usually powered by a rubber strap, the belt can slip through, causing the electronics to miss the input timing, including a microswitch or copper contact which is activated at the closed disc tray so that the laser is focussed to read the table of contents Due to the fact that the spindle motor is activated. And in some players (interchanges there is also a selects witch that can be contaminated. a suggestion to help in the link
