I have a little experience...I have changed the optical drive ( that was quite easy). I have changed numerous things in desktop type pcs. The laptop is not under warranty at this time. The warranty has expired as of last month.

If it's anything like my dv7-1130us, it's quite a job.
I picked up a new fan for around $20 on ebay. That's the easy part.
The fan is pretty much the first thing they put in when they build the laptop. You have to take pretty much every part out, including the motherboard before you can get to it.
I couldn't find the service manual for the 1245dx, but I would assume it's about the same as the 1130us. There is a service manual for that on HP's website and it will tell you step by step.
It took me about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish.

How can i repair a loud noise my hp iq506 just started making? the noise is on the left side of the screen and it sounds like a fan running and skipping?

Its probably exactly that, switch off and remove the access panels and you will probably find its full of dust etc. Find the fan, give it a good blow out with an airline or a strong vacuum and see what happens. Replacement fans are a few bucks and take a good DIY person a few minutes to change. Look online for your make, model, serial for compatible fan.

My fans are very loud do I need to replace them

check the plastic rings behind the fan blades, check to make sure plastic rings is tight and the screws holding fan cage on. Then when putting the fan cage back together, make sure it is tight so it wont vibrate

I think the fan is making a super loud grinding noise.

I would not recommend this. You could fry your cpu and then you would have no notebook. If you are going to open the notebook make sure there is nothing interfering with the fan. The fan can be replace. Take the fan out and try to replace it, if needed. Do not run the notebook without a fan.

Hp laptop dv9500 noisy and loud fan ...

The sound you are hearing is probably the fan, This fan has a noisy bearing and will eventually lock up and the fan will stop spinning and therefore the CPU will overheat and shutdown.
The fan needs to be replaced.

Motor noise coming from hp designjet 120 nr

The fan is probably filled with dust. This can throw the balance off and make vibrations or cause resistance which can make a humm, not necessarily a bearing, not sure if the fan even has bearings. Anyway, the intermittent noise can be that the fans only run when the printer is hot. Find where the noise is coming from clean off the blades and components with a damp rag, blow around or lubricate the center of the fan, and replace it in the printer. Should fix it.
