Hi, I bought an external keyboard from a friend of mine, who used it with her desktop computer (windows xp model). Now my computer is acer aspire 3680. I connected those two, but nothing happened. The keyboard didn't come with any cd rom, so no driver for it with me. (I don't even know if the problem is I don't have a driver for it.) Could someone help me?
I have bought an extra FC ACK-260UA keyboard - but i cant get it func. - do I need a driver - I have Widows Vista

Re: How to use an extra keyboard
This keyboard was out back in the Windows 98 days. There is no doubt that it should work in Vista. Do other USB devices work on your computer? Try using a thumbdrive, mouse, or another USB device in that same port. You may be having a problem with your USB drivers. Go into device manager and remove all the devices under the USB heading, reboot and let it reinstall everything. If that doesn't help, reinstall the chipset driver and any USB related files from Acer's support site.
Also try your keyboard on another computer to make sure it is functional also.

Cap lock key is not supposed to get stuck in any version of Windows. If your keyboard's cap lock is not woking, problem is not in Windows 7 but with your keyboard. You are not specifying if you hav a desktop computer or a laptop. If it's a desktop, go to any computer stpre and get a new keyboard. If your problem is with a laptop's keyboard and you don't know how to service them (most surely, you don't), it might not be a good idea to open your laptop and change the keyboard. A friend of mine tried to do this and he simply couldn't connect the keyboard. and finally he had to take it to service. So you should ask professional help to do this work.
Angelo, do you have the installation CD-ROM that came with the keyboard and mouse? If so, it should work just find with your Sony Vaio VGC-V517G all-in-one computer. Let me know if you have any issues.
Here is the link to download the driver, click IntelliType Pro 7.1 32-bit for Windows XP. If your OS is not Windows XP, you can also go here, and select 1) Keyboard 2) Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard 4) Windows 7 (or which applies to you) 5) English.

im having simular problems but manage ome times by tapping caps lock, scrol lock and num lock from the momment you pc starts till the caps lock majes a noise, then i know its working, if mouse starts mocing slow and not clicking it is your batteries, got me mad this has and dunno how i aint smashed it lol
Don't run the setup program. Instead reboot your computer and use the windows add hardware wizard to install the drivers from the CD. The windows hardware wizard will detect several different devices, allow it to install them all from the CD.
You have a problem with your drivers. That keyboard is too old and I can not find any vista drivers. I can find XP and Windows 2000 drivers. The regular keys should work, but the extra keys that are not standard on all keyboards, like the cut, paste, and volume controls should not work.
If you want a keyboard to have those functions, then you need to buy a newer keyboard that has vista drivers.
When I bought my s510 recently I couldn't use the function keys even with the software that came with the keyboard and mouse.
I had to actually download new logitech software for the s510 which allowed me to use the function/extra keys.

On the right hand side of the screen you will see 'Support Center' below it click 'Downloads,' From there you can choose your OS w98 and language and download the software you need to get your keyboard working the way it should.
