First, see the Sears parts list for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.29822800&pathTaken=partSearch

Look at the section on the Rear Panel parts where you'll see the components for how water enters the machine.

A bad question but are you sure that the water is on going to the machine? (I've done it myself)

Also see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for top load, direct drive machines. It has a description of how the washer works as well as testing procedures.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It sounds like a problem with the level switch or inlet valves.

I have a Kenmore 90 Series model 110 washer that overflows. I have changed the water level switch and verified the tube is clear and has no leaks. Could the timer have anything to do with the problem or...

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Also see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It has a troubleshooting section as well as testing procedures.

I'd test and verify that the Water Inlet Valve is working.

If it tests OK, I'd also test the timer.

Hot ware trickles in on my Kenmore Series 80 Model 110.92282100. I probaly need to change the water valve. How do I get access to it?

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.92282100

By looking at the diagrams, you should have a good idea of how to access the water inlet valve.

See the following for how to access the console.

First see the Sears parts site for your washer.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.22722100

Also see the Whirlpool service manual for top load, direct drive washers.

If you're sure that the water is on and there are no obstructions in the hoses, I'd check the "water level" and / or "water temperature" switches.

See the Whirlpool manual for how to test them.

The problem sounds like one of the water control valves or switches, (assuming that you've verified that the hoses to the washer are turned on.
