No man I need to know how tp put them on thesd card, ive got a 2 gig card here cause it wont let me delete the original one, but can I just copy and past both ocmpletel folders on the card and thats it? or do they have to be seperated and a bunch of other steps?

What exactly is the map data? I see the map folder, but even within that there is a few subfolders. Same with in the install sd folder, but i dont know what you mean by program folder.

I also downloaded the 3rd file you posted which was just a small single file

Im willing to pay for your time if you help me get this working if you take paypal or escrow

    thanks

    Kevin

I just tried, took my original SD card from finedrive, formatted it (right click drive and format is what I did), then oppenned up the Install SD folder, in which there was another single SD folder so I openned that. Copied the contents (DSKNAND folder, SW.ver file and upgrade_ce.exe file) and pasted them onto the SD card, loaded it into my finedrive and started the unit up. Still came up with the same problem and said cannot find map data files please make sure ur sd card is installed properly. it didnt start up any different and there was no updating or anything.

Im now trying to just copy the contents of the MAP_SD folder to the sd card and seeing what that does, but it takes a while to load the gig of info on there so its gonna take a while.

    Any ideas?

    Kevin

the trick is to copy the contents of the program sd forer and the data sd folder to the ROOT of the card, do not simply drag and drop the folders, open them and copy their contents...

this is a two step process, first you wipe the card and copy the program files to it to update the unit, put it in the unit and start it to run them. once this is done you again wipe the card and copy the map data to it and then you are set to go...

  • vince954 Apr 02, 2008

the install sd folder contains the program for the unit, the map sd folder contains the data.

the third file is a word document with detailed step by step instructions. in summary.

decompress the files you downloaded to a directory where you can find them or even the desktop.

format the card using your pc

on the pc open the install sd folder, select all the files and folders within and copy them to the sd card.

install the card in the unit and power up, it will run an update program, when complete shut it off.

    format the card again.

open the data sd folder, select all the files and directories, copy them all to the card...

start the unti with the card inserted, you should be ready to go.

if you are unable to do it, I can do it for you if you send me the unit,, you can email me at vince954@yahoo.com for details.

I am not sure how to make this any simpler, you decompress the files you downloaded, these have folders in them. OPEN them, select the contents, and copy the CONTENTS to the ROOT of the SD card. if you dont understand, I suggest you have someone computer experienced do this as you also have to know how to format the sd card in the PC.

Yes, the process is two steps, first you wipe the card (format or just delete the files). and open the install sd foler, select its contents and copy them to the card. then you boot the unit with the card in it to update it.

Step two is to wipe the card again and then open the map sd foler and copy its contents to the root of the card.

I have been selling a dvd on ebay with the files and instructions if anyone needs them. I have been unable to find a decent site to post them as they are huge files.

"Dead" Magellan RoadMate 2000T

do you still need help with this gps. im sure i can help you as i fix these everyday.

this is a very common problem with your model gps

the following advice pertains to the following magellan gps systems.

Magellan 800, 860, 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3050, 3100, 3140, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and 6000t

i fix these and many other magellan gps daily so when considering my advice , please understand i do not google my solutions.

assuming your car charger is working (the little green light is on) and your magellan still wont start up after holding the power button while its plugged in for up to ten seconds and still does not start..read below

this is actually a very common problem with these magellan power ports...they are poor quality from the factory and always and i mean always fail..the new ports that you find on ebay are 100% better then the factory port.

if your able to replace that power port yourself, you can get one HERE, if not, ask the fellow that sells them for help.

due to some dubious "experts" on fixya, im not permitted to help you directly, but please follow the link above to get further help.

let me know if you need more help or info

Hey dude,
It may be due to corrupt memory card or corrupt memory card slot.
Hey guys,
The problem in ur mobile is occured due to damaged software of ur mobile. It is due to virus, i think so.
The main way to fix ur mobile is to go to mobile technician to get ur mobile flashed.
SO u better go to mobile technician.

NAVMAN F20 failure - unable to detect internal memory

Hi,

I think that the micro SD card inside the GPS is not in the good position, it is necessary to remove the grey sticker on the rear of the GPS and open the hood to access the SD card and then you can plug it in good position.

Downloading map to 276C

I think your problem, as it was my also, is the memory card. I tried with a friend of mine's data card (memory) and is working fine, I sent my card to garming after I talk to them over the phone for an exchange. I have a 276C with 512Mb data card. I hope this help you to solve it. Javier Martinez Valencia-Venezuela
