Question about Samsung HLP4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV

TV turns itself off after a few seconds, no picture at all

When I press the power button, I hear the TV turn on. What I here is like a relay click, no sound or picture from the TV itself. It will shut off after maybe 5 seconds then turn itself on again. It will do this repeatedly, never do get a picture or sound. Also don't get the sound of the CRT powering up, if you know what I mean. when i turn my tv on i get picture and sound but after about 4 or 5 minutes the picture goes blank and all i have is sound then the tv turns itself off

I have a Samsung DLP HLN507 which had the same problem as yours. One of the FixYa Techs (Bobbyj) told me to replace the Lamp (which I did) and it now works great. I also found a video on Utube showing how to repleace the lamp. It's pretty easy to do. I got my lamp from this web site.

http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung... If you know the exact model # of the lamp u need, then you could try Ebay as they may be less $. The site I used has good Cust. Serv. and so I didn't mind paying a few extra $ to know I got the right part. Good Luck, Jeff

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Tv won't turn on

I think its a defective convergence chip/circuit and need a tech to replace it. It could cost about $300 or so.

Panasonic LiFi model number PT-50LCZ70. Have red lamp light flashing on front 2 times. Have tried to turn it on and get no picture and no sound at all. I checked and the fan is running. What now?

After the red 2 flashing starts, press the power button on the front of the TV and hold pressed down for ten seconds.
You will hear a faint click comming from the back of set.
After 10 sec release the button and wait 10 more seconds then press the start button and release right away.
The green light flashes and the bulb attempts to start.
I found my picture will turn on on the third attempt of the bulb restarting.

When you do this and the room is dark you can see the bulb attempt to restart, My bulb has restarted on the third restart every time.

(note: The three start attempt happen after I do the button pressing
1 time and I do not need further button pressing restarts.

I think panasonic needs to let us know what the problem is.

I called Panasonic and they told me to plug it into a wall plug by itself.

I have it plugged into a multi plug adaptor now and have not tried this yet.

Sounds like a capacitor on the power supply is bad. Easy fix.

Won't turn on

The clicking you here is the mosfet trying to turn on power on the the oscillator then power to the tranformer. The thing with red wire come from the top to a anode splitter. The question is where the power stops. You know it is going to the mosefets but is the trasformer powering the tubs. Email me for anymore questions Christopherclhurst@hotmail.com
