Well it depends on your BIOS type but it usually resides at advance setup. Look for any USB titles and enable them.

Check loader..

Check Loader comes from the BIOS. Go into your computer BIOS (tap del del del) and make sure your motherboard BIOS can see the Controller. If not, contact you Mobby manufacture for an upgraded BIOS if your motherboard if it isn't too old, and your controller isn't too ancient either. Next - some controllers and PCI add on cards require to be registered within the BIOS. If it needs to be, you need the floppy or CD from the Controller maker and install it before the Mobby BIOS can see it. Remove the controller, install the BIOS update within your OS then shut down, install the Controller, and reboot.
Or don't reboot, go into the PC BIOS and look if the controller is listed.
Many times, it won't show in the BIOS itself but there will be a Logo and Identification at boot up. So keep your eye on the screen until you pass boot into the OS.

Helo, i have updated the bios on asus p532n-e sli premium, and after instalation the sistem won't turn on.pls this is urgent. a nice day

Hi,

Hi,

According to your problem first check the bios update. Check that you have updated the bios properly. Run the motherboard in updated bios, so reset the bios. This may occur for another cause also. So check the electric outlet where the system is being plugged. Make sure that the SMPS is OK and compatible with motherboard. If the SMPS fulfil the minimum requirement of the pre updated motherboard then updated bios may not support. Check that you have installed the SMPS power cable in your motherboard properly. It will help you.

Asus P4S533-MX Bios problem

The average life span of a cmos battery is about five years.
The Asus P4S533-MX mother board hit the market in 2002/2003. Suggest you pull the bios battery and check its current voltage. It should read 3 volts DC. Double check the bios jumper. The jumper should be across pins 1 and 2 (This is Normal default setting). Open you're manual to page 1-15 for more information about the bios jumper. (CLRTC1). When in the bios you should set the time and date to current date and time. Save and exit the bios. When you boot your system and the bios auto loads it's self automatically usually its due from a wrong setting within the bios or its not maintaining its voltage. Consider the price of a new battery. Bios settings changed automatically

Have you tried to update the bios? One of the latest versions BIOS Update [DPP3510J.86A] 07/15/09. But verify to ensure that you download the correct bios for your board. There are a few options available. Also check the jumper pins for the bios on the motherboard normal or (default) setting is pins 1-2 jumped.

Bad bios checksum

You need to go to the website of whoever made the motherboard and get the BIOS flash utility and the BIOS binary file to update your BIOS. Make sure you get the right one, as using the wrong one can render your motherboard worthless. The BIOS file has to be the exact match. There is no such thing as close in this situation.
If you are not sure of the exact make and model, get te free Belarc Advisor from http://www.belarc.com
The BIOS chip holds information about your motherboard hardware. It is reprogrammable. It uses what is known electrically erasable read only memory. This is also called Flash memory. Reprogramming is called flashing. When you flash the BIOS, all data is erased, then the new data is written. The flash utility will most likely allow you to save the old contents, but you might have an extremely tough time recovering from an improper flash. You'll also probably need a couple of floppy disks, one of which may have to be bootable. If you need a bootable floppy disk, you can get an image file from http://www.bootdisk.com.

How can I change the motherboard boot logo

Hello,

The EPA logo and the Fullscreen logo all are stored in the bios. That is the update
you download from the manufacturer's website contains both the logos in it. So if you mod the bios update and then apply the patch the next time when you boot your computer you will see the new logo.

***BEWARE A BAD FLASH CAN RENDER YOUR MOTHERBOARD USELESS****

Software Used

Winflash 1.51 ftp://ftp.ecs.com.tw/driver/bios/flash/winflash151.exe
Award Bios Editor 1.0 http://sourceforge.net/projects/awdbedit/
CBROM 2.15 http://www.biosmods.com/download/award/cbrom215.zip

The mods are in two sections.  If you only want one or the other, just skip to that section.

FULLSCREEN LOGO

1. Make Sure the motherboard uses the Award Bios.

2. Either Download the new Bios from the Manufacturer website or get it from the system Bios directly by backing it up.  For backing up and updating bios, I use WinFlash 1.51 (there might be a newer version, I just stick with what works!).

3. Now we have the bios file on disk. Now make a new bitmap image with any of your favorite imaging software. Make sure that the final bitmap image you have created is 640*480 and 256 colors.

4. Now use the CBROM Utility to change the boot logo in the bios file.
This is done by using Command Prompt

c:\bios>CBROM215 bios.bin /logo logo.bmp

5. Now to check whether the bios file was updated correctly. Run the Award bios editor. (make sure the dlls in the plugin directory are moved to the folder with awbedit.exe)

6. Load the bios.bin in the Award bios editor and check in the left hand list for Fullscreen Logo and that it does show your logo.  If okay your bios is now ready to be flashed.

7. Now use Winflash utility, load the bios.bin and click on update .

8. Reboot the computer and the bios logo is changed.

EPA Logo:

Procedure for the EPA logo is just same except the few things.

Image size is : 138*84 16 Colors and 72 pixels/inch

Command for adding to bios file is : c:\bios>CBROM215 bios.bin /epa epalogo.bmp

When you check for the EPA logo in the Award Bios Editor, the colors will not be same as those that you choose but when you flash the bios and reboot, it will show the original colors.

*****PRECAUTIONS*****

Never try to flash bios without a uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
Close all the programs before flashing from Windows.
ALWAYS wait for flash program to notify you for reboot, DO NOT EVER EVER reboot when you think it is ready or taking too long.  Mucking up the flash CAN MAKE YOUR MOTHERBOARD GARBAGE!!!  You have been warned!!

I hope that this helps,
Ken

How to install bios

Well usually your BIOS is not going to be corrupted but you can download applications and binary files that are Firmware Upgrades for most BIOS sets. Check on the Manufacturers website for BIOS Firmware Upgrades for your particular BIOS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT FIRMWARE FOR YOUR BIOS OR YOU MAY DESTROY YOUR PC!
