If I unplug my LG answering machine will the messages on it be erased?

Hi cammydj4 - I'm assuming you are Camille Holmes (Lebarge). I found you on reunion.com and this was your user id, so I googled it. Sorry! I'm trying to locate your brother Lawrence. Would you please let him know I would like to get in touch with him? I'm Colin Gruchy, a childhood and highschool friend from SMCS. My email is colin@gruchy.name. I would greatly appreciate if you would give it to him and ask him to contact me. As for your answering machine, I think if you have a battery in the machine, the messages will not be erased if you unplug it. That is how mine works.

When power fails or unplugged the receiver, Memory settings were erased. How do I maintain the setup memory after programming even after power failure?

You don't specify what make and model, but some receivers have a battery to maintain the settings memory. I:f the battery goes dead, your setting are lost such as you describe.

3300 es sony, message "protector"....I unplugged

You've done about as much as a layman can do. I'd advise you get it to a hands-on tech for further troubleshooting. Or something is blocking the ventilation slots and it's overheating.

The manual:

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sony-STR-DA3300ES-Receivers-manual/id/3067dj280/t/2/

Page 134 defines the indication.

Sony receiver STR-AV460 stuck in standby mode and don't have remote to change it. Not sure how in got switched to standby mode, but need to get it out of this mode.

Try to unplug the AC cable from the wall for a while. However this may erase some recent programming, despite Sony AV receivers have memory enough to keep programs. Hope this may help.

On my Tascam DP-02 I am recieving an "error 50" message telling me to re-boot

I called support concerning the same problem and they advised me the only solutiion is to restore the DP 02 to its initial factory settings (Track Edit, cursor up, and power on simultaneously until the Dp asks Are you sure?) This will erase your hard drive. I've had this machine for less than two months and I'm really disappointed. Prior to this latest episode the DP would not let me load two songs, telling me File Error 1005 FF (Pwr off).

Cant distinguis the type of reset on my menu

restart reciver is the same as unplugging the receiver. Restart defaults resets the reciever with default settings such as favorites and parental controls. Restart everything erases everything including the authorization and resets the receiver so a tech can re run the satellite setup and later call for a resend of authorization for that receiver.
