Pretty common problem with these
I've had at least 6 customers this year
Each time it is the faceplate motor that has failed
only fix is to replace and I'd advise to avoid the brand Dual

Dual CD770 (Same as XDMR7700) face stuck open (down)

Change the Flex cable that connects from main chassis to the front face plate. This is a common problem with Dual drop down face plates, since the flexible wires break and lose connection.

My new dual XDMA450 stereo wont turn on. when i take off the face plate the red sensor light is flashing. this only happens when my head lights are on. what problem am i having with my stereo and why

Check your wiring connections. A similar thing started happening to me out of the blue. The unit would work fine for a period of time, and then just shut off for no reason, and I couldn't get it to come back on. The next day, it would come on again when I started the car and stay on for a while, only to shut down again. The red light behind the face plate continually flashed, regardless of whether the receiver was working. In my case, there was something off in my red wire connection. The unit would turn on / shut off when I moving the wires on either side of the connection. I redid the connection, secured it with electrical tape, and the problem has not reoccurred. If the red wire is not the problem in your case, try the black and yellow connections. These appear to be the wires that could cause this to happen. I can't explain why the power kept repeating the power on / off cycle, unless the wires were in just the right position to be moved / jostled slightly while driving. Hope this helps.

Just installed an XDM7615 Dual stereo and the face plate won't detach. Can anyone help? The manual says there is a button behind the face when it's in the 'eject' position but pushing this button does...

There are 2 very small screws on the back of the face plate that need to be removed. Once these are removed, you may then remove the face plate.

How do I turn my subs on on my xdm7510 radio

check to see if you have power going to the amp. Battery(+) and Negatve(ground). if those are ok, turn the radio on and check to see if the remote wire(it's usually blue) has power. if you have power on the battery wire and the remote wire from the radio, then there is a problem with your amp. check fuses on the amp if any.

I have a Dual XDM7510 and i can't figer out how to get the face plate off of it

Hello sneary_08,

The front panel was semi-permanently attached during
assembly. In order to be removable, the installer is required to follow specific procedures contained in separate instructions. If the installer did not perform the procedures, the front panel will not be removable.

If the procedure was followed during initial installation, then you can remove the front panel as follows:

With the unit off, press OPEN to allow the front panel to slide
down. Gently squeeze the release tab located on the bottom
center underside and pull front panel down and away from
unit to remove. To install, insert left side first, then push
right side to secure.

Hope this helps.

I have a dual xdmr7700 stereo and lost the manual need to get the face plate off

Same problem as yours with my deck. Bought the deck a month ago, turned car on in the morning face plate does not move down, music plays everything ok but can not access the cd or move the plate regadless button pushing.
Have you tried the reset button? Hold it for 3 seconds ( ball point pen to press the button above power button) U will lose the presets but Oh weel.
I am going to remove power completey from the unit later on today, and if it still has issues I am returning it for a replacement ( Bought it form Best Buy)

Stereo issues

I'm assuming that you installed the head-unit new and that the faceplate did (at one time) previously slide down the way it was intended to work - is this assumption correct?

Is the molding around the head faceplate (mounting ring) damaged?

Are you sure you're not using the semi-permanent mounting configuration??
(see page 6 of the manual)

This particular unit has the option for a semi-permanent mounting of the face plate. If the two screws are inserted into the sides, it will lock the face plate in to the head unit (have you done that?) - if so, removing the screws will allow the face plate to be removed.
