Bios password for phoenix bios - Computers & Internet

Posted by on

  • Anonymous Apr 25, 2008

My computer was very slow so I decided to use system recovery. While it was "recovering" I left the room for 5 minutes and came back to a blank screen. Grabbed the mouse and it asks me for a password. The only password I have ever given it does not work. I have only had this computer for about 3 months.Dummy me didn't take the time to get backups on anything.Does anyone know what password it may be asking for and what it might be? I have unplugged everything and tried to start up again, but can only get to the same screen again.

The solution will offer many approaches to resolving a BIOSpassword you need removed.

1. Using a Backdoor BIOS password
Some BIOS manufacturers implement a backdoor password. The backdoor password isa BIOS password that works regardless of what any other user has set as a BIOSpassword. Although manufacturers change these passwords with newerreleases of hardware, it's worth trying these passwords first before employingmore time-intensive methods.

AMI:Reported AMI backdoor BIOS passwords include A.M.I., AAAMMMIII, AMI?SW ,AMI_SW, BIOS, CONDO, HEWITT RAND, LKWPETER, MI, and PASSWORD.

AWARD:

You can download it here.Click on Download DOS executable. CmosPwd will recover the BIOS password for the following BIOSversions:
