It sounds like you have something blocking your PS3 disc or something is loose inside. If you cannot fix it by gently shaking/tapping the PS3 then i would have a professional look at it if it isn't still under warranty. If you can get to the problem without taking off/ripping the manufacturers sticker you may be able to see the problem yourself and fix it.
Your system is overheating!!! there are three fixes for this..1 replace the thermal paste, 2 power fan is burned out need a new power supply, or use canned air to clean all the dust that has collected inside your system just dont hold the can too close you might blow something loose
From what you describe it sounds like the drive is misaligned or something is indeed stuck in the drive. Contact Sony and see if the unit is still under warranty with this site: https://service1.us.playstation.com/rma.htm?_flowExecutionKey=_c2308ED2C-FEB8-9F46-F2FC-3B0BEF105507_k57A0E825-5B8C-90E2-97B6-B9F7B76FB5CC
Loud grinding noises are always a BAD sign of things to come. It could have been that something was in the fans on your unit or it could have been the hard drive. Either way, I would return it if it is still under warranty. You will not regret this.
It depends where the clicking noise is coming from. if the sound is coming from the front of your Console Chances are there could be something loose within the PS3's Blu-Ray drive, if its coming from the back, there could be something affecting the cooling fans such as something stuck inside like dust etc.
if your PS3 is able to play Games and Blu-Ray Discs fine, i would seek Sony technical support, just to make sure everything is okay. you wouldnt want your PS3 to break !
It needs to be thourouly cleaned every few months. That is a powerful fan and it sucks in tons of dust, even if you have the cleanest house. I never rrecommend the after market products. Sometimes they cause your system to have more problems. Untill you get it nice and clean inside, do not push it or the power supply and/or the mother board will blow something. Hope this helps.
