Have you tried going to a different vid like vid 2 or output etc. if it starts to work on a different video then you can know go to settings and go to vidoe settings and you can change it to what ever options of the cables you want be careful if you change it to the wrong one it will not work unless you have the cables that you have chosen. you can also choose the HD cables if you have those cables once youve changed it the screen will go black (happens to any cables you pick) then you dont touch the controll and change the TVs vid to were ever your HD output channel is at and then when you go to the right one you should be able to see the screen again and it will tell you that the vid will change back to the other vid you use to be on so you have to press yes with ps3 controll and then you will go to some other options and then it will tell you about the audio for the audio just go to the same HD cables and then you would be set. i have a similar problem, but it happens when i'm playing 1vs1 with my homie. one pad, mine or his, at one point starts reacting sluggish to our commands and it hinders especially the passes' strength and accuracy/directions. i'm curious what could it be.
if it's happening with your ps2 and your ps3 on teh same tv, try it on a different tv. if you're getting sound but no picture, tehn it's something with your cables or your tv. restting the display setting should get your picture back up. make sure the system is in standby and then hold down teh power button. it will turn green and beep, then flash green and beep again. it should brng up a picture. if not, check your component cables, especailly if it works with the original cables.
um.. well if your useing an hdtv withan hd cable witch im thinking you are the ps3 connection is screwed hold the power button on the front of the ps3 for i think 15 to 20 sec. it will beep at you a bunch then try to turn it on connected to the tv it should find the connection it self: what i just had you do is reset the connections you dont loose any thing. :)
mabey its the tv try to if u still have a white ps3 manual book look and if u can stil see the screen check all the settings i also have a samsung but all was good if its flat and has the av2 option put the ps3 on that option thats how i have mine and if u can help wit this i have a 80 gig and once im done wit playing bacwards compatibilty it gets stuck on the please wait and it starts to freeze
you need a ps3 scart lead. i think the one of the ps2 is the same but check. it should just hook up like a ps2. if you are having any problems with the picture hold down the power button when you start up the ps3 for 10 seconds this runs the optimal screen settings for the cable you are using. but if it is the first time you are using the ps3 it will auto start in set up mode. hope this helps
