Hello! Just search for the folder option setting and click on the view menu and click the show hidden files then ok. If you are using windows 7, just type the folder option on the start menu and it will appear. If you are unable to locate, go to control panel and search for the control panel.
The Control Panel is one of the most useful places in Windows XP to go when you need to change a setting or reconfigure a feature or function. It consists of a group of individual applets, and each applet deals with a specific part of your system.
Typically on most Windows XP systems, the Control Panel can be accessed directly from the Start menu, either as a submenu or as a link. However, you can also add the Control Panel to your My Computer folder, so that when you open My Computer, a link to the Control Panel will appear toward the bottom of the window. It will be displayed in the "Other" category (below "Hard Disk Drives" and "Devices with Removable Storage").
To enable the Control Panel to be displayed in My Computer, follow the steps below:
A. Open My Computer (or any other folder).
B. Click Tools on the menu bar.
C. Choose Folder Options.
D. In the Folder Options window, click on the View tab.
E. Scroll down the list of advanced settings until you see an option labeled "Show Control Panel in My Computer."
F. Put a check in the box next to that option.
G. Click Apply to save the change, or click OK to save and exit.
Now open My Computer -- you should see the Control Panel icon under your storage devices. If you ever want to remove the Control Panel icon from My Computer, follow the steps above but remove the check mark from the display option and then click Apply or OK.
Many times Windows users face a common problem. The "Folder Options" in "Tools" menu is not visible. Even It can't be accessed from Control Panel. Also "Registry Editor" is disabled. If you are also facing this problem, then you have come to right place. Follow the simple steps mentioned in this tutorial and your problem will be solved:
1 If Folder Options is disabled but Registry Editor is still working in your system, then you can enable Folder Options by editing Windows Registry. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. it'll open Registry Editor, now go to following keys:
First, open Folder Options either through the Control Panel, or click the Tools/View menu on Windows Explorer and click Options or Folder Options. Click the VIEW tab then locate and select the SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS option, then click APPLY/OK. Afterwards, you should be able to see the DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS folder. You may then right-click on it and choose Properties then uncheck/deselect the HIDDEN option and click APPLY/OK. If you prefer, you can then go back to the Folder Options to hide HIDDEN FILES/FOLDERS from Windows Explorer again.
I assume you have a Vista machine since you can't find the Folder Options under Tools. It's been moved (who knows why!) to the Control Panel. Open Control Panel, double-click Folder Options, and there are the choices you're looking for.
Open tools menu, on top bar of your folder, and chose option 'folder options'. Alternatively open 'folder options' from control panel. In 'folder options' box use view files option. In view files chose display hidden files and display system file. Here is the way to do this in detail
To change attributes click right button of mouse on folder, chose properies, at the bottom of properties box you have the attributes.
seems that you can have a virus in your machine. after this The goto Start --> Run --> and type gpedit.msc Then navigate to
