Since you don;t have the recovery disc for this laptop and you want to restore it to its factory default, you still have an option to go get one from Toshiba support so they can send a copy to your place that you can use. But there's also some web site right now where you can purchased this particular recovery disc but I don;t really recommend that since I believe Toshiba can send you a free recovery disc that you can use. Another option that you can try if you have friend with the same laptop that you have and still have the recovery disc you can also use that for your laptop.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I want to reset it

@lslchrisorei

Toshiba laptops have a built-in recovery mode on the system wherein you don't need to use a disc to restore it to factory default (if that's what you mean by "I want to reset it". The hotkey for the recovery is the 0 key (don't use the key on the numpad). To activate it, you need to turn the computer off, then you need to hold the 0 key then turn the computer back ON. If you hear a continuous beep, you can let go of the key and It will then say "Windows is loading files" and will proceed with System Recovery. If this doesn't work, that means that this computer doesn't have the hidden partition for you to restore the unit to factory defaults (either it's faulty or it's not there) and you need to order the recovery discs from Toshiba at 1-800-457-7777 (for US) and for Canada, it's 1-800-663-0378.

If you're still under warranty, they'll give it to you for free.

Cheers

Hi! I need XP SP3 drivers for my toshiba satellite L305-S5900 notebook. Ethernet, wifi, sound, display, modem etc. Thanks

Hi.

Click on the blue link I have provided below. When the page loads up click on the down arrow next where it says "All Operating Systems" and select the one that says "XP SP2/SP3". Then you can download all the drivers you need for the laptop.

Toshiba puts a recovery partition on the hard drive. Here is how to access it to return it back to factory settings.
1.Turn the PC on and hit the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears.
2.Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press ENTER
3.choose your country and click OK
4. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" which is the last option.
5.Follow the on-screen instructions
6.When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"
7."Next"
8.. Click "Yes"
9.you will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time.
10. After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"
If you have replaced the harddrive you may still be able to get a disk from toshiba HERE

I have lost my recovery dvds for toshiba L305D

Another option is to just get a new copy of windows and do a fresh install. You can get the discs but you have to pay for them from toshiba. This way you have a copy of windows that you can use on this computer, and move it to the next one when your done with this computer. Rather then proprietary recovery discs. Thanks,
Lee
