I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 HDTV that worked fine and received all the digital channels in my area (San Diego, CA.) after I rescanned the after the transition with a $20 set of rabbit ears. Last week I lost all digital reception and tried rescanning with no success. I bought a new $50 hdtv antenna but nothing changed I get only some analog channels that haven't converted yet or channels from Mexico. Any ideas as to why I lost digital reception?

Have you checked your aerial is connected? It may be necessary to do a manual re-scan. Make sure you choose the option to 'replace' current channels.

Where can I find the Antenna input on the back of the Hitachi 55PMA550. Just moved house and trying to setup but can't find it.

"HDTV-ready" is a title used for the first generation TVs which could display higher resolution image provided by newer formats, however MISS the ability to receive such channels over-the-air.

Put simply, many such TVs do not have anetanna input - they just do not have a built-in tuner for over-the-air reception by themselves and need an external receiver - be it a cable receiver or just a simple TV receiver box.

Not sure if this applies to your TV, but as I said it's a common thing for most HDTV-Ready ones.

Hope this helps.

Why won't my new Vizio DTV work on an antenna without the digital box?

Do you have the antenna aimed correctly and the correct antenna for the distance between your location and the stations? Check antennaweb.org and tvfool.com for the directions to the stations you should be able to receive. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the station list. TVfool gives the stations you should get with various different types of antennas. Tall trees and buildings will block signal strength so consider the environment around you.

With digital signals, if you do not have enough signal strength for a given tuner, the channel will not come in. An amplifier may help you get the signal, particularly if the signal is shared to several devices. Failure of an amplifier or lightning surge protection can stop the signal from reaching the TV. A surge through the antenna can damage the tuner.

A damaged cable can also be a source of a problem. Check the outside portion of the wire as well as the interior wires. Replace any that have damaged insulation or ends.

For this TV, if you have done a channel scan with the TV set to the Input TV/DTV, and the Signal Source set to Antenna. Turn the antenna and then set the Additional Scan to On. (Menu > TV > Channels > Additional Scan.) Then do another channel scan.

If you need a copy of the manual, see: http://www.vizio.com/m220va.html#support .

I bought HDTV/UHF/VHF/FM INDOOR PASSIVE ANTENNA please help me to install it it is not working

Is the antenna the correct one for your environment? Do you have the antenna pointed at the stations you want to receive? Use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to get an idea of the location and likely channels you can receive at your location. Antennaweb assumes an outdoor antenna but is very conservative in the list of channels you can receive. (These may match the limits of the indoor antenna.) TVfool lists the stations and the appropriate antenna that will likely receive each station.

Tall trees and buildings will block the signal. Get the antenna as high as possible. Move the rabbit ears and UHF loop to maximize your signal strength. Then make sure the TV is set to use the OTA tuner (ATSC for digtal stations). (That may mean changing the source in the setup menu.)

Then scan for channels. Move your antenna or parts of it and rescan or edit the channel list. (For some TVs there is a weak signal setup option that will let you manually enter the station number (including sub-channel). Then it will provide the signal strength information as you move your antenna.)

I hope this helps. An amplifier may help you bring in weak stations with enough signal strength for the tv to see them.

Sharp digital tv cannot receive digital signal

This television would benefit from an hdtv indoor outdoor amplified antenna not obstructed by trees, aluminum, bricks, and etc. Make sure the signal type is air and not cable and complete a channel scan during primetime tv hours after connecting to this antenna. Buy a large one that you can mount to the wall usually in a large flat box on the shelf in the store. Philips has one sold at Walmart.

My Sony KDL-46V2500 can't receive digital channel of our outdoor antenna, the same antenna line that feeds to another TV that works fine, can someone help?

signal booster, different tuners require different signal powers, by splitting the feed you've effectively halved the signal strength, a booster should bring it back,

Turned on set....screen all black except a dark blue rectangle in center which reads:Failed to receive broadcast [E202]

That message is presented when a selected digital channel is too weak to decode. Let us hope that something was accidentally changed:

Is the channel legitimate?
Is the antenna/cable still connected (to the Digital input)?
Go into menu - setup - channel setup. Is the selection of either cable or air channels correct for your situation?
Use menu - setup - Antenna Setup-DIGITAL to examine the signal strength. Is there nothing at all, or is it just a question of strength?

Odds favor a change in channel setup that you would not have made intentionally, or a simple physical problem (input cable, etc.). Start from scratch, and check the settings and connections you originally made. Hopefully it will be simple and cheap!

Very odd tv problem

Digital receivers whether external to the TV (converter box, satellite) or built in are digital processors(computers). Just like computers there are times when they freeze up. This can happen if the data stream is corrupted too much to render the picture, but enough signal to lock. The processor attempts to "wait" long enough to gather enough information to begin. Just like computers, these need to be re-booted by turning on or off and sometimes unplugged and plugged in. You have either too low of signal quality or too high of signal strength, which is a problem with digital receivers.
