Question about Philips 28PW9536 28" TV
I have a five year old 28PW9527 with horizontal lines showing against a dark background. They are a bit less than an inch apart and don't go quite to the edges of the screen. They are whitish in colour, perhaps with a slight green tint. I have read that I should adjust the screen voltage and screen high voltage output. However, without a manual I'm reluctant to start. Can anyone advise how I can get hold of a manual, or exactly where these adjustment controls are inside the set?
Thanks in advance for any help.
These adjustment controls are on the HT transformer. (Large plastic block on one corner of the main board - looks similat to a distributor cap on a car.) They are usually a plastic pot with a cross in the end to fit a flat blade screw driver. (This is the large blocks Philips TVs usually have three adjustments on the transformer:
When you have found the right control it will go brighter or darker.
Before adjustment, set the TV brightness control to about mid way. Ideally the screen should have a completely black image to show up the scanlines.
Adjust the control until the scanlines disappear. Do not over-adjust or the screen will appear too dark.
TAKE GREAT CARE not to touch anything other than the control. HIGH VOLTAGES
