How to connect wonderwall projector to computer?

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector
You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key a few times. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8

When i plug my projector into my laptop the screen on laptop goes black

Depending on the windows and your computer, your settings may have the laptop's monitor shutoff when connected to an external device such as a projector. You need to find the settings and use (i believe its called something like) dual screen mode. I had to do this for my hp laptop with windows 7. Feel free to write me back.

Hi all, when I press Fn+F3 then screen is sent to external projector, but my notebook's screen became black. What I should do?

The Fn+F3 key toggles between these display settings when you press these keys again.
To the external projector only.
To both the external projector and laptop screen
To the laptop screen only.
Repeat pressing the Fn+F3 keys will cycle through these screen settings again.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, have you tried pressing Fn + F? keys on the notebook to cycle through the choices; notebook display, notebook display + external, external only. The F? key would be one of the function keys with the small monitor icon.

Additionally, you may want to lower not only the screen resolution but likewise with the screen refresh rates.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

Toshiba LCD projector

always make all connections first !! after that : switch on the laptop, or else no detection of an external monitor/projection device is possible.
Please check also your bios settings, some can be set to force simultaneous display of external screen and lcd of the laptop.
some laptops also require ddc communication between external connected devices.
Try to use a full wired ( except pin 9) VGA cable.

succes

Hi there

If the problem occurs again , you will most probably have to replace the mainboard , as all the inputs of the unit lies on the mainboard itself.
