That should have been "input" which will likely be a special sequence of pressing at the corners in a certain order on the display. I don't have the user manual.

If new software was installed, one likely has to do this step.

I recently got a Kimball Swinger 1000 for free from craigslist and after i plugged the thing in, it only makes feedback noises when the keys are struck. Same when headphones are plugged in. The lights,...

First thing is to check the power supplies. You really need to get a manual that inclides the schematics. I suspect that one of the voltages is not present. Also look for cables that may have partially fallen off.

I have a Wurlitzer Funmaker organ that has no sound. Is there a reset or fuse I should be looking for to get this organ working again? I removed the back Panel and need some suggestions the light on the...

Contact Morelock's Organ Service, Rienzi, MS, United States Phone 601-462-7611. Provide them with the complete model number and expect to pay for a service manual if they have one. Start at the end of the power cord and work towards the amplifier section. You will want to establish that the power supply is working correctly. The light is only an indication that the power cord is getting power to the power switch. If the power supply is providing the correct voltages to the other circuit sections of the organ then you will have to trouble shoot each one separately. Check to make sure the speaker is functional. If it has a headphone jack test it also as it may cut the sound to the speaker out if headphones are plugged in. If it is faulty, sound may not get to the headphones or the speaker. You will also need tools. At least a volt/ohm meter.Remember not to work on the circuits with the power on unless you absolutely know how to do this safely. There are lethal voltages in the power supply.

Korg PA800 not booting up

I suspect you have aa pwer supply problem that is supplying low voltage to the unit. The display will light at low voltage but circuitry will not run when voltage is low.

Very littel sound in white and black keys. normal

We can only guess at what model/brand you have.

OFTEN such low volume things can be traced to a burned out light used in some expression pedals that use light dependent resistors to vary the volume.

Be aware that on some organs things like rhythm drums MAY go through a different set of speakers and amps than the other voices.

Turn on the organ and get a loud hum.......

Chances are you're hearing "60-Hertz" hum that comes from poor filtering in the organ power supply. Electronic circuits need direct current (DC) but our power lines supply alternating current (AC). The power supply converts the AC to the various DC voltages needed. Parts called filter capacitors smooth out the voltage, and if they go bad or lose contact because of bad connections the result can be the hum you're hearing.

There are other possible causes, but the filtering is so common it's a good place to start. You don't give the age of this organ, but if it's one that has been around a while, it's a good bet some of those capacitors are worn out.

If you can post a follow-up with a make and model, I'll check some of the technician groups and see if anybody has service information.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

We just acquired a Baldwin "Fun Machine" organ model number 121F. It has all the lights that work but there is no sound when pressing on the keys. If you pump the volume pedal you can hear scratching...

The scratching is just a bit noisy volume potentiometer, but it pointss out that the power amp is working...

Are you sure you know how to operate the organ? You have to select one or more instrument tab switches to get anything out.

There could be almost anything wrong, but likelly a vacuum tube has failed. Open the back and see what tubes are lit. PLEASE NOTE: There is high voltage in the unit...
PLEASE ALSO NOTE that some tubes have two sections and BOTH must be lit for operation.

Lowrey catillion organ with loud static noise

Try posting on the organforum.com.

It sounds like the power amp has a problem. Probably filter capacitors have gone bad.

Our Genie Lowrey 44 organ does absolutely nothing when turned on. Could it be a fuse that has blown? I've had this organ since about 1980 and never had a problem with it before, Thank you.

A little more info is needed here. Are there any lights on this unit at all? Are there some normally? If so, then yes check the main fuse. If not accessable externally, it should be located close to where the power cord enters the unit. Check it (when unplugged please!!!).

If that failes to resolve it, please let me know and I'll research the specific model in the meantime.

Thanks,
Dan
