Hi,

From the symptoms you describe the problem is most likely with the gas valve coils. Since it is heating at least initially this rules out the safety fuses and thermal devices.

The coils are a pretty basic repair. The first image is a breakdown of the valve showing the coils (13 & 14), with the bottom front panel open you can see the valve. The second image below is the parts and part number.

Let me know if you have questions.

My dryer is no longer getting hot. it will go through 1 heat cycle then it will not re-ignite. The glow plug heats up to re-ignite the dryer but the gas never re lights. If you un-plug the dryer and...

if it heats for the first 15 to 30 minutes and then no more heat you have bad gas coils, when they are defective they will work until they heat up and then no heat when it cools down they will work again.they are on top of the gas valve, very easy to change

Kenmore dryer is hot at start of cycle but clothes are cold and damp at end

most likely you have bad gas coils?if the dryer runs correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes and then no heat it's the coils, when they heat up they fail and when they cool down they'll work again for a time then they will die,the coils are on top of the gas valve, change them out one at a time and you should have no problems, remove the 2 screws lift up the metal top and change out the coils

My dryer will heat only for about 15 mins

you didn't say if it's gas or electric, sounds like bad gas coils, when they're on there way out they work until they heat up and then shut down, after they cool they'll work again

Gas dryer get hot but than goes cold

This sounds like a problem with your fan motor. The dryer is getting too hot and the gas is shutting off until it cools down. That fan keeps the dryer cool by moving the heat to the clothes in the drum.
You can easily check this by feeling for air flow in front of the exhaust vent outside. No air movement = fan problem = heat shut off in 10 minutes. Good luck

How to use my kenmore gas dryer 90 series and the heat fire comes on but does not stay on for too long and it does not dry the clothes. what is wrong.

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Kenmore Gas Dryer Gets Hot, Shuts Off Early in Cycle

Sounds like a faulty high limit or cycling thermostat. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a certain temp. It should be mounted on the exhause duct inside the back of the dryer. It should look something like the one in the picture:

Hope this helped and best wishes.
