Question about Sharp Aquos LC-45GD4U 45 in. LCD HDTV
What size screws do I use to mount my Sharp Aquos lc45gd4u TV to a wall bracket? Nowhere in the owners manual does it mention the size of the screws for the four holes in the back of the TV. The screws that came with the mounting bracket are too big.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I don't know the model in particular, but most of these sets can be wall mounted if you have the screw holes for the mounting plate in the back of the set.
What I believe the tech was telling you would be that it is best to not wall mount the set. The reason is that we found that we have been seeing a higher failure rate from sets being wall mounted. This is because the surface of the wall reflects some heat back in the set, and thus causes it to internaly run warmer. This is also the same from running a set inside of a cabinet. The complete surface area behind the set being very close to the wall surface blocks cooler air circulation. It is best to run these sets on a stand that is out in the opened at least 1 foot away from any wall surface.

SOURCE: Mounting the bracket to the tv?
Hey, I had the same problem and finally found this solution (the four mounting holes are covered by plastic caps as I thought ... just wanted to be sure). Hop this helps:

Finally figured out the correct arrangement or configuration through trial and error (and my wife's puzzle solving ability). It sure wasn't clear in the instructions, and I could not get the needed information from the website of either the manufacturer of wall mount system or TV...a little frustrating, but perseverance paid off. Given the price of the wall mount, I would think they could do a better job.
